We are getting on a very irritating run of boardies getting $300 lately. First goldroadfanatic, then SecretChip, now OneBidTris, as Tristan is known as here. Our FPG director and one of my best friends on the planet. It"s a good thing I have zero chance in hell of ever being picked due to a dull personality, because it sucks to see this boardie run. (Total Winnings: $300)

Results: 2 out of 6 (with 1 bailout)
Winnings: $76,894
Biggest Winner: Tracye

Congrats Tris! So happy you finally got your day in the limelight!

Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

Recap posted.

Can we please stop getting boardies called down 5th or 6th just once. Maybe we need to send someone undercover. :P

I don't think I'd have to put much effort toward going as an anonymous player.  LOL...who the heck am I?

Pretty unfortunate stuff in both car games & the cash game, though I wouldn't call $8,000 as unfortunate.  Just half of what could've been.  Success in Pathfinder wasn't meant to be.  Pretty unlucky outcome in L7; right approach at the end, but the previous choice was the difference there.

I wasn't going to bring up the recent bad breaks of the "family" in terms of when they're called down + a $300 outcome.  Since we both agree on that trend, here we are.  It's still good to be called down, but personally, I think it would be a good thing if one of the best in the game gets to show TPIR skills on stage.  Nonetheless, hats off to Tris

It does feel like they dont' want us on stage right now.

If they don't want you on stage right now, then why do they call you in the first place? Because even if you get one upped, you could get your bid exactly right and still get up on stage, even with only one shot at it.

Getting a bid exactly right is like getting an ace on the PGA.  Both a correct bid & a hole in one, while not impossible, are very difficult to achieve.  Getting the ball on the green, close enough to the hole to save par or birdie it a better plan.  Some strategic bidding gets many up on stage more than trying to be right.  The time one bids (2nd, 3rd, 4th) is important too.

It may be a fair enough point that someone can guess the price, but that's asking too much.  Chances are the prize offered is one they haven't ever seen before.  Furthermore, with another chance, it's possible that someone bidding earlier gets it right before you'd have a chance to bid.  Still a stretch; while a moot point for this episode as Tracye didn't need to bid perfectly, if you re-wrote history, Tris could have thought that the Popcorn Cart was $899.  But so could Tracye and/or Marianna.

I'm putting too much thought here; it is a fair point to suggest that staff would be better off not calling them at all if they didn't want them to win something of significance.  However, it is rather vexatious that many of the people from the site have been called down in the 8th/9th spot with a chance or two to get out of contestants row.  Who knows what could've been.  I do have to mention that many people that were in that unfortunate spot were still thrilled to get called down.  It's not getting on stage, but CR is not nothing either.  I have to be fair to say that even though I was rooting for Tris & many others to play a pricing game and go from there

This is a terrible take. We’ve had multiple boardies (and at least one cousin) get called in the First Four this season, and I was called sixth (for what appeared to be a legitimate reason). Three people getting called ninth, ninth, and eighth, respectively, does not negate this.
