PLINKO was awesome today.  Big money!

and that $47 in money game was just nasty.  I knew it would either be that or the $36, but she kept going for the numbers with 0 and 5 at the end.

Mmmm...brie cheese... great name. :P

Too bad the El Cheapo Ford Ranger with a random back (I actually recognized the exact price from a Squeezey playing last month) started a bad end. Was surprised Grocery was played with so much time left, but he didn't have a clue how to play properly - or even know that a small Pringles isn't over a buck. Lucie cleans house with an impressive bid on the Mustang for the high total of the week, great job for her!

B
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

I laughed at how Drew said "our director doesn't think you're excited enough, Pamela."

It was funny to see Drew pull up not only the middle part of the truck graphic but pull out the middle number as well.  It's a darn shame that Pamela lost Money Game; she said "it was my game" and she was having such a good time and seemed like a nice lady.

I laughed at how Drew remarked "well, then you don't want to win any of our dollars anymore." after Lucie said that the Canadian dollar is higher in value than the US one.

Has there ever been a quick reveal in One Wrong Price.  I think there was some sort of edit there, because I don't think the models would reveal the prices that quickly.

I laughed at how Edward says he likes his retirement because of the tan he gets.

Yay, Roger gets some brief camera time!

I loved that Anna Alabama showcase, one of the best themes for a showcase this season no doubt.

Oh yes, I always wondered when a spoof of "Hannah Montana" would be the main focus of a showcase on TPIR, and it happened today. Could Pamela possibly have been any more excited when she was called to Contestants' Row? Seeing Lucie winning $21K in Plinko was awesome as well. Also, is this the second time Roger forgot to give Drew an ARP card during the one-bid rounds? I thought he did that once already. Definitely one of the better shows this season.

The first showcase was so funny, it truly made Miley Cyrus' character green with evil.

Safe Crackers: $450 was my guess also for the sunglasses.

Plinko: Great seeing a fellow Canuck win $21K. American.  :oldlol:

Money Game: 47 would be my second guess for the last 2. Pretty funny seeing Drew remove not only the middle part of the truck graphic but the number with it as well.  :oldlol:

One Wrong Price: The guitar was my pick.

Grocery Game: I would win with 6 Hot Pockets and 1 Phillips. Something Bobby should've done.

Pick-A-Number: 5 was my pick. A pick that I would later regret on selecting.

Showcases: I thought that Lucie would go over. However when there's a trip to N.Y. being offered as well it went to her advantage. Tough break for Bobby for garfing on his showcase. I'll say that Lucie definitely cleaned house today.

Safe:  3 pairs of sunglasses.  Both $450 and $540 are divisible by 3, so math wouldn't eliminate either choice.  Between $150/pair or $180/pair, I would've picked $150.

Borko:  A great haul for Lucie, our friend from the Great White North!

1WP:  I don't know how that was lost.  $2,660 was way too high for an acoustic guitar.

Grocery:  For a car!  Usually, Roger uses a tough setup for non-car games when played for a car, but today's game was set up for a win.  Or at least it should have been a win...

One-Bid #6:  Hi, Roger!  Second time this season that Roger forgot to give Drew the price card.

PA#:  Drew hasn't broken this game yet.  Nuts.

SC #2:  Bobby didn't even cover the Jacuzzi.  :gotc:

My showcase bids:
Mustang--$29,607
Random room/spa--$22,107

Result:  Holy crap!  How much was that NYC trip?!
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Has a reason been given for the sudden spike in Pick-A-Number playings in the last few months, or did they just decide to play it more without any real reason? I only remember seeing it maybe three times in season 35 and it's been played at least four since January.

At least it seems Side By Side is also getting a slight uptick in playings, so it isn't too bad.
I'll put this in here, but I didn't want it to overshadow the more interesting topic of specials. Earlier in the show Mike and Beth talked about Jenny McCarthy's appointment to The View and it leads to Mike talking about her appearance on Price. Mike says that he and the staff mulled over whether or not to have her on the show because of the controversy that follows her. They ultimately decided to have her because she's "a great advocate for what she believes in." Now, Mike didn't specify exactly what he meant by "what she believes in" and what "belief" of her's that he's addressing, but that could certainly be taken the wrong way.

They've increased playings of Pick-A-Number slightly mostly out of necessity, with this season's reduction in time allotted to pricing games.

Of course, the real reason Bobby did the...

Of course, the real reason Bobby did the [massive underbid] was that he thought Lucie overbid, especially with the [frequently overpriced Mustang], but he was wrong.

Y'know, most people bid what they bid on their showcases because they think that's how much they cost.

And why would Bobby have any better an idea than Lucie how much the Mustang was worth?

The Anna Alabama showcase was awesome.  I was expecting it to end with a topless Brandi clutching a sheet.

It was also nice to see Roger get some airtime.  I was hoping people would chant "Dob" instead of "Roger" but I guess everyone isn't as crazy as we are.  Was it just me or did Roger have a bit of a beard too.  It was hard to tell because he kept ducking and diving in front of the camera.

I do believe you are correct!  I caught a glimpse of Roger during the 5/7/08 MDS and I noticed the same thing!
