Well. What do ya know? The new guy gets to be the first one to give his thoughts on today's show. Well, here it goes. Please forgive me if I do something wrong.

Check Game: $2495 for a sauna?  8-O I thought it would have been a whole lot more. But then again, what do I know?
I haven't bought a new sauna lately. ;)
Switcheroo: I knew that $18,435 was the correct price for the car. Great win. :-)
One Wrong Price: I would also also picked the guitar. Good job.
Coming or Going: Hard setup today. Both prices looked right. I think that I would have lost here. :-(
THAT's TOO MUCH!: I would have stopped at the $22,000 mark also. Great win!  :-)
HI-LO: There sure were a lot of high prices here today. I think that I would have won though.
Showcases: Nice Snowmobiles win! :-)
Overall: Great show today. Both cars games were won, plus One Wrong Price and a $20,000 showcase as well.  :-D

Well, there ya go. Thanks for letting me post my thoughts and I hope to hear from you all soon.

Just one thing I must say today: on Coggy: Thou shalt not listen to the Peanut Gallery.

Great to see 'Roo not first and won (though not completely), as well as the Gallery OWNED on the cheaper-than-thought Avenger.

B+
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

First of all, I was not wild about the lineup. 2 quickies (OWP and COG) and 2 semi-quickies (Checky and HiLo), and then TTM was in there, and that is a game I just don't like very much.

Anyway.......

Checky: Cheap sauna.
Roo: Woulda had it on the first try.
OWP: Pretty easy. The guitar just didn't look that expensive.
COG: Expensive trip. Embarassingly, I think I would've lost.
TTM: Didn't think it was too bad.
HiLo: I knew the guy had lost. I'm kinda surprised he didn't get caught in a trap on the Jelly Bean Box though.

SC1: I had a nice bid here. Surprised I guessed right on the snowmobiles.
SC2: Overpriced the Explorer. Thought it was the mid 20s variety, but I think it was actually around the low 20s. I may have misjudged one of the other two, but I think that's what did it for me.

Retired Games that should be brought back:
Barker's Bargain Bar, Buy or Sell, Superball!, Super Saver, Split Decision, Give or Keep, Hurdles, Penny Ante, Walk of Fame

Check Game:  I loved Drew's commentary during this game.  "You're holding up the line!  Our ice cream is melting!" :oldlol: That sauna was a lot cheaper than I expected.

Roo:  Yay!  Switcheroo! :P And the first Roo win in the Carey Era!

1WP:  Yay!  Half-Off cue! :P Easy win.  No way that guitar was gonna be $2,750.

That's Too Hard!:  That Was Actually Won!

Hi-Lo:  SHOOT THE IKEA KINDLING!

My showcase bids:
Room/snowmobiles--$19,107
Gas Guzzler--$28,507
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

You have to love the irony of Coming or Going being lost, but Switcheroo and That's Too Much being won. Wow.

I was there! :-D  Trip recap here.

Check Game: This show taped on 6/25, and I had seen the sauna on a show just a couple days before.  I remembered it being around $2,400, so I was yelling out $3,000.  As soon as she put down $2,100, I knew she didn't have much of a chance.

Switcheroo: Hadn't seen this game in quite a while--my schedule has not really allowed me to be the religious viewer I used to be, though I tried to watch regularly for the last few months because I was planning to come to a taping.  I didn't have a good view of this one because the cameras were in the way, but when he put the 3 in for the car, I sort of figured he had it.  He was a crowd favorite, and I was glad to see him win.

One-bid for the fireplace: Kevin and I were yelling $899, and that would have been an exact bid.  Where's my $500? ;-)

One Wrong Price: Definitely an easy win.  Two out of three!

SS #1: "You're going to the showcase on a nickel!"  Terrance did what I would have done with a 55-cent spin; Drew said the same thing during the next break.

Coming or Going: We led Barbara astray on this one, and I felt bad.  I really didn't think the trip would be over $9K.

That's Too Much!: I groaned when they brought this one out, and I was concerned Beverly wouldn't win... but she did!  Another crowd favorite.

Hi-Lo: It was so loud in the studio that I didn't hear Drew's correction on the price of the kitchen, so I didn't really get Gary's joke about "taking $3,000 off my kitchen."  I'm guessing most of the audience didn't either, judging from the sparse laughter.  I knew he should have gone with the Breathe-Again instead of the Aspercreme.  Oh well, three-for-six.  The lollipop comment was a reference to an audience member giving Drew a lollipop while he was talking with people during the previous break.

(Our comrades in line--Tiffanie, Kali and Orin--can be seen in the front row during the closed-captioning plug.  My face is covered by the logo, as I figured it would be.)

SS #2: Again, Gary did the same thing I would have done with a 50-cent spin.  Barbara gets a second chance after her tough loss in Coming or Going!

Showcases: I was worried this was going to be a double over-bid.  Barbara wins!  Aaron didn't need two cars, anyway. ;-)

I wave at the jib cam during the credits, and that's a wrap!

How on Earth did Barbara win $49156 when she lost her pricing game and only won a $20xxx showcase?

I was wondering that, too. When Joe posts the recap, maybe he'll have the answer.

I was going to ask that too. Maybe they added the two showcase totals together by accident or something.

I was doing the math on this when watching it last night.  I was unable to arrive at the $49156 number given, but $49456 is what Aaron's total would have been if he'd won his showcase, plus his one-bid, plus the car and electronic translator from Switcheroo.  I'm thinking math error + production error (putting Aaron's projected total up instead of Barbara's actual total).

Actually, now that I look at it again, the math error was mine.  Oops.

$895     hammock
$18435 car
$79       translator
$29747 showcase (loss)
----------
$49156

So it looks like they put up Aaron's projected total instead of Barbara's actual total.

Looks like I was wrong with the two showcases being added together. Great math radioinsomnia.  :-)

That sauna in Check Game is probably the cheapest one offered in recent years; I know it appeared in Magic # recently.  But I think that playing was just evil, the check was written for a reasonable amount as well, I forgot the cheapness of that sauna and thought it would fetch around $3500 myself.  I laughed at how Drew said "you're holding up the line!  Our ice cream's melting!"

Also, I think this is probably the first time someone this season wrote out the amount of the check on the "Dollars" line.  Every other time I can recall contestants just writing the number on the check.

For the first and probably only time this season, Switcheroo was won!

For next season, Drew should really stop forcing the second turn on contestants.  I know technically the contestant could leave things as-is during the second turn if they wanted to, but that would make it such a waste when they could have just bailed out.

How many times in the history of The Price is Right has someone won the Showcase Showdown with just a nickel?

Well, Coming or Going was lost again.  Now I don't know if we will see it again next week or not, but as of this show, but I want to point out that Coming or Going has had its worst win/loss record for a season in the years it has been in the rotation.  This year, it has been won 8 times and lost 18 times.

It was great to see That's Too Much won, especially after some people thought Beverly lost by going one too far.  I like how Drew made sure that "That's Too Much!" was said before stopping the game, kind of how Bob used to do it.

The end of Hi Lo was just painful, some people (myself included) that Gary had won with the Aspercreme's price in the Lo row, but I never thought the nasal spray would be so expensive.

I really wondered why they flashed Aaron's total if he had won the showcase on the podium and the on-screen graphics instead of flashing what Barbara really did win.
