Bonus Game for a CAR! And it was WON! Some of those SPs were tricky, but she did admirably well. I had a bad feeling on the last one, but she wound up not needing it. The camera shot at the end, though, was too high and made it look like the BONUS was on the bottom and that she'd lost, until they switched angles and you could see it was definitely in the third slot, not the fourth.

In fact, the camera work has been pretty sketchy lately. I feel like it's frequently just on the wrong thing. But then again what do you expect from a director who used to be a music consultant on Now You See It? (or was it Card Sharks? Eh, same difference as far as qualifications).

Whoda thunk that Bonus Game would be the third small prize pricing game played this season?! It showed up on the second week of the season, and before games like Pathfinder, Five Price Tags, Cliff Hangers and Secret "X"! Shocking!

I couldn't tell if it was an edit, or if Brianna really just didn't want to say hi to anyone while spinning the wheel.  She looked like she was trying to say something, then Drew said something, and then it looked as if he cut her off.  It was a bit awkward, and to me, maybe looked like some editing was done there.

Gas Money seemed to be set up fairly easily for the contestant to win the whole shebang.  At least she still won the $8,000.

Poor Nancy. I counted on 3 seperate occasions where Margaret one-upped her.

Very glad to be back to normal today.

Rangey: Completely random, there's just no way to narrow down the price of a trip into 100s and 10s.
OB2: Drew takes these bids in stride very well - love that.
Gas: And so the ingenious game design of the DOB saves the budget $20,395.
ME: Easy pickings, it wasn't the island grill (4k).
Grocery: I guess he really thought the lotion was $4. Bad screw-up there, but at least it's only kindling he lost! ;)
2-for-1: 4922 - 624 = 4298. If I didn't get the 1st number, I would have lost, as 3998 sounds much better, but regardless, -98 always matches furniture.
Bonus: Ye old time constraint shows up today. I was surprised with so many tricky SPs that the easiest one had the BONUS - seems they wanted to clear out some Hondas today. However, the camerawork on the reveal cut out the last window, so I thought fpr a split-second when it appeared on the bottom she lost. :/

SCs: 36608 / 21108. I don't know how long I can keep doing this... :P

B

EDIT: Echoing on what Tom pretty much identically said, it's been a bit...off so far. Hopefully that'll fix itself soon and it won't ruin any major moments.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Maybe my eyes are going out on me, but I hit rewind on the DVR several times on this. "Brianna" who was called down in the first half - seemed to have a couple of barely noticeable blurs on her chest throughout here entire appearance. She had a light blue shirt that said "Shikamoo"-something across the front. Is this Swahili for "my nipples are showing on national TV"?  8-O
I've seen only one "blur job" before this one, a large guy last season whose "plumber's crack" seemed to appear at random...

AWESOME LINEUP TODAY. Today's lineup just goes to show you that the Dob could not be stopped, still can't despite the fact he's no longer with the show. After the first half sped by I figured the 2nd half would bring a treat and I was not disappointed. 2F1 5th was cool, but the "piece de resistance" was seeing Bonus Game LAST and for a CAR. When's the last time Bonus was played last? When's the last time Bonus was played last and for a car? That was awesome.

Range Game: Hey, caught on camera and the rules explained before the prize was even shown.

Gas Money: $8000 ain't a bad consolation. Makes a good downpayment on that Civic. After watching Gas Money today I looks like its timing falls somewhere between One Away and perhaps Card Game. I could be wrong but that's my theory.

2 For 1: That was tricky. $628 looked a whole lot better than $624. BTW: I could barely hear Drew at times during this game and on the final reveal I had to turn the volume on my TV up just so I could make out him saying "light up the price."

Bonus: Ok, Drew handled this game HORRIBLY. Drew was abysmal throughout the entire game , esp. at the end, he didn't even bother to build up any suspense at all. That camerawork on the final reveal was pretty horrible as well. Despite these complaints just seeing Bonus played last was a treat for myself.

Showcases: Hark! What is that I see on the horizon? Why, its random snowmobiles and a random trailer.  :P

Kim played it safe, and there was a lot at stake.  At least she won $8,000 for Gas Money.

Daniel should've went for five of the cat food in order to win in the Grocery Game.

Jason should've listened to his friends as they all held up four fingers for the last digit.

(Where does Margaret buy her flatware?)

What Daniel should have done was take one of the Spaghetti sauce. That would have done the job.

It appears they have changed the lines for the Range Game split screen shot.  I like these new, slimmer lines more preferably than the old thicker lines, considering the split screen shot used to use thinner lines.

Drew did a much better job explaining Gas Money this time around.  Too bad that Kim bailed.  I was quite surprised she did since the toss up for the final choice didn't even look like it could be the right price.

On the other hand, Drew's explanation of Grocery Game could have used work.  I'm not really quite sure what he communicated to Daniel, but it seemed to me there was something he wasn't understanding about the game.

Speaking of Grocery Game, when did they change the price tags to use the More or Less font?  It looks really bad.

Drew was absolutely enjoyable the whole way through Bonus Game.  He didn't display any enthusiasm or buildup for the car reveal.  Further, what was up with asking for the small prize description without pulling out the prize listing on the board?  Thankfully Cynthia was quite enjoyable with a good display of energy.  It kept the segment from sucking entirely.
Roger Dobkowitz's Seven Commandments of The Price Is Right:
1. Tape and edit the show as if it were live.
2. Never tell the contestant what to do.
3. Size matters. (The bigger the prize, the better the prize and the bigger the reaction.)
4. All prizes are good.
5. Never do anything on the show that would embarrass a parent with a kid watching.
6. Never put on a prize that would make the show look cheap.
7. It’s the game, stupid! (It’s about the game.)

I'm actually relatively sure the sauce is only 1.99 - so 2 would have been needed.

Wow, not only was Bonus Game played for a car... it was played sixth for a car!

Seeing how ridiculously expensive that model car was, I thought for sure the BONUS would be with that window.

Extremely bad camera shot for the BONUS reveal.

My showcase bids:
Room/snowmobiles--$21,407
Trailer--$36,007
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Range Game: Talk about stopping it too soon.

Gas Money: Great she got $8000. But she should've gotten $10,000 plus the car had she go on. WHY OH WHY KIM?!

Most Expensive: When Drew mentioned the bar I knew it was the one there.

Grocery Game: Had Daniel taken the pasta sauce he would've won.

2 For The Price Of 1: Regardless of what Drew said I knew it was $624.

IUFB #6: I really wanted Nancy out of contestant's row. Damn you Margaret for one-upping her 3 times!   Serves her right cause it didn't work for her either.  :-P

Bonus Game: A shame Cynthia didn't got the last one right. Thank goodness the bonus wasn't there. Great win.

Showcases: Cynthia got a rather decent bid there. However Brianna got the better bid though and thus the big winner today.

Was this worthy of its own thread in The Talk Is Right ?    (Was this worthy of even a mention anyway?)

Anyway - I thought Gas Money was easily winnable.  I am not sure why Kim bailed out, because of the 2 remaining choices, her choice looked absolutely correct.

Good to see Bonus Game back so soon, and for a car as well.  I loved Cynthia - I just wish Drew hadn't decided to phone in that segment, because it would have been even better if he had played off her energy.
