Outside of the week we're in right now, which consists entirely of shows delayed from September and October, I find that very unlikely.

I doubt this highly, but a thought came to me. What if Drew nicknamed this game "Ezekiel" because he found it old and wanted out of the rotation(because Ezekiel, a biblical name, is certainly old fashioned)?

I feel it was more of a reference to how old Bob was when he retired hosting TPiR, but I'm just throwing this out there.

Or maybe it's because the show was established in 1872 by Ezeikel, and then Bill, and then Bob.

There is no official word if Barker's Bargain Bar is retired yet. From what I heard, it's unofficially "on hiatus," but not retired...

I'm wondering if a name change is in the works (this may have been talked about, so I apologize if it has).  "Drew's Discount Den" would fit well if that's what's up.

I would feel better if the game is called "Drew's Bargain Bar" or "Carey's Bargain Bar." Either or is okay. That is, if the game is just on hiatus.

Let's say that they change Barker's Bargain Bar to "Drew's Discount Den" or something like that.  How long would it take them to redesign the game?  I personally believe it is on hiatus.

Sorry I'm chiming in so late on my thoughts. I just now found this thread. It's stupid that they are getting rid of a game that really doesn't have any outstanding flaws. Now I for one do not care for the game all that much, but it still is pissing me off that they are just getting rid of the games one by one. First it was 3 Strikes, then Buy or Sell, now it's Barker's Bargain Bar. You would think that since owning the show since Season 29 that Fremantle would know how to run this show. Fremantle is changing so much at one time that it is becoming quite unenjoyable to watch the show anymore, even though I still plan to watch the show. Sometimes I've wondered lately of what Mark Goodson is thinking about Fremantle's doings in game show heaven.

What the PTB have been doing with the show is utterly capital! First, Penny Ante is left in the rain and ruined, and is retired (which means that we'll never hear of 'Drew Pennies'), then we very rarely see Secret X (I don't know what it is, but when I see a prize of a living room or spa or something like that, I expect to see Secret X, not Pick-A-Number or Pick-A-Pair), now, they're getting rid of Barker's Bargain Bar. Why couldn't they call it "Drew's Discounts" or some other name to that effect for Drew Carey, instead of removing it entirely?! Somehow, I think that Fremantle is hastening "TPIR" to an early cancellation, considering all the changes, another one of which is signing off as "A FremantleMedia Production." Hello?! There is already a Fremantle logo on it just before the squeezed credits-- it's unnecessary to use the same logo twice. The sale of "TPIR" to Fremantle, considering all the changes, should never have been allowed.

all of this can be yours, if you can afford it.

Until I hear something, I'm going to say the game is on hiatus, not retired.
