Fingers

Hey everyone. I am very much a life time fan of TPIR, but something I have been curious about lately which I feel I should really know is... how did Kathy Greco get the nickname fingers? I forget.. was it something Bob had mentioned and it just stuck?

I actually asked this question a few months ago myself, and the reply I got was that apparently Kathy Greco gave Bob a really nice backrub sometime around the early 80s. I never liked that nickname myself, but that's just me.

You know I asked this very question to Bob himself during the taping of one of his last shows and neither he nor Kathy herself could really remember the how and why!

Funny stuff . . .

I thought I remember hearing years ago, before the massage story appeared, that she got her nickname because she did a lot of the data entry on the scoreboard displays.  Not sure where I heard that from or how reliable it is, but it seems a more plausible story than the rubdown idea, which may well have been a joke Barker made during a stopdown.

how did Kathy Greco get the nickname fingers?

Kathy was nicknamed "Fingers" around 1980 or 1982 when she gave Bob a backrub. At the time, Barker had a herrinated disc.

All wrong. Kathy was called upon whenever a showcase required a hand model, such as turning the pages of a book.

Shows you how Internet myths get started, though.

Her husband was a professional golfer. Oddly enough, his nickname was Thumbs Greco.
