One-Bid 1: $5,000?!

Plinko: I’m really tired of hearing that second cue.  Man, that was an expensive remote!

One-Bid 2: What an amazing amount of time the show wasted here with Wagner…

L7: Painful loss…and on the third number, no less!

Push: Man, I was way off!  I would’ve said $8250 and lost.

SCSD 1: It was down to my two favorite couples.  I really wish Matt and Sara could’ve won, but the wheel didn’t work in their favor.

Switch?: I would have won, as well.  I know they haven’t had a setup in this game in a while that shouldn’t have been switched, so it had to happen eventually.

One-Bid 5: Awww…

Grocery: GREAT win!

Gas: Nice to see Gas Money show up!  I knew they’d lost immediately, even before their first pick.

SC1: Finally…a truck!  :gotc:, though.

SC2: What is that…like 14,000 of those FRPYS this week?

Show Scorecard:
Lineup: 9/10. Gas Money!
Drew: 9/10.  Drew did unusually well today.
Contestants: 10/10.  Lots of great selections by Stan here!
Showcases: 9/10.  We finally get a truck in there!
Music Cues: 4/10.  Michael Karp’s crap was way overused today, IMO.  Only three cues other than Walking and the main theme were Kalehoff or Killer Tracks.

Final Comments:
Nice to see a car in the Showcase!  This show wasn’t all too terrible, IMO.  I still wish we didn’t have to resort to gimmicks…

–  Plinko: $1600 for the honey moon.

–  O.B. #2: Wagner alert! It felt just like last time.

–  Lucky Seven: Relatively fair setup.

–  Pushover: That jet ski was just screaming $9398 to me.

–  Switch?: Nice win.

–  Grocery Game: Every one in the chat room (myself included) was saying the game was over. That was a miracle win!

–  Gas Money: Major wipeout. Now we need Gas Money to be played in the first slot, and this game will have been played in every slot.

–  Showcases: Decent showcases. Another all-trip showcase.

Could have been better. Could have been a lot worse though.

So...um...what's the point of doing an "engaged couples" show whose entire premise is that all of the contestants are engaged couples if you don't have to be an engaged couple to get called? :?

Seemed like a good special today.

Plinko first seemed awkward, same as lucky seven second.

Oh well, good bids on the showcases today.

Okay, be honest.  I think it was bidding round #4...when the two ladies came down (and the one's fiancee was in Iraq), who thought there was going to be a big Prop 8 problem?  Gotta give the Staff props, though...that was a nice touch.

Nice to see Jack Wagner make an idiot of himself, again.  But Drew did get off a pretty good line after that..."It's a soap opera.  You marry the daughter, you're gonna wind up with the mother and the sister" or something like that.
They can be close at the top, too.

Although you more or less answered your own question; reading between the lines, having that couple propose was suppose to be cute. Kinda fell flat, I thought tho. You could see it coming a mile away.

Winning $1,600 is Plinko is pretty good. The win in Switch? was nice as well. Overall, I'd have to say that today's show was pretty good. Let's hope for an even better show on Monday.

Well it was an obvious setup, though the girl still seemed fooled. Been reading Bob Barker's autobiography and this sounds like the type of thing they did on Truth or Consequences all the time.

I think it demonstrates the changing mentality of the producers regarding contestant selection.  Clearly, the staff knew that the young man was going to propose to his girlfriend, or else they would not have been picked.  The staff is banking on these staged events, rather than counting on the natural spontaneity of people.  It's the same thought process behind the contestant search.  Since Drew is not adept at bringing out the best in contestants himself, they need to provide him with people who have a nice story.

This isn't the first time a contestant has proposed after having his name called.  Remember the guy who proposed while spinning the wheel, about five years back?  I would be surprised if the staff hadn't known he was planning on that.  Was that 'banking on a staged event'?

Winning $1,600 is Plinko is pretty good.

It is? Don't get me wrong - I would love to have $1,600 for just dropping chips - but $10,000 is what I would define as "pretty good" in this game.

I haev to agree with Steve - it's an "engaged couple" show, not just a "couples of any kind" show, even if it was a planned event.

Didn't care for the whole Wagner moment....what was the point? Regarding that same IUFB, it seems like some couples would have already had the wedding dress, if not the tux as well, bought. I'm not sure how good of an idea it was for that to be a prize....

Regarding the Iraq situation....I can understand why they did that, but I'm not sure if I agree with picking her solely because of that.

It really wasn't that bad of a show, though.....only thing is, I wish they would have had a Father's Day show instead, seeing as how they had a Mother's Day show.
