4/3/14 -- RESULTS
« on: April 04, 2014, 06:21:54 PM »
Expecting big scores tomorrow - this almost seems TOO easy when it's just fill in the blank.

You nailed that on the head, Kev.  This was perhaps the most predictable lineup we've had all season.  None of today's games was picked by fewer than 9 people.  Three players picked all of the games for a $200,000 bonus.  A bunch of players came close to the Super Secret $1,000,000 Bonus.  All of the top 13 scorers picked up bonus points.

Of course, I'm still trying to figure out how 1/2 Off was won.  That was nothing short of a miracle.

Kev wins with perhaps the second best score in FPG history, although somebody might shout "Historic Wrong!®" at me--16 MP/67 CP.  He was just 3 MPs and 1 CP shy of JayC's all-time record, set back on November 12, 2004.  Kev didn't get the "4" bonus because Chad1787 was the only person to nail Squeeze Play's slot and result.  That gave Chad 6/24 after the first segment, beating Kev's 5/25.

Punchboard91 came in second place with perhaps the third best score in FPG history--15 MP/54 CP.  whammy007 didn't pick all six games, but he scored enough for the bronze.

See you next Friday!

Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

The key to this one was playing like they intended the 6580's to be celeb week, which it sure seemed like they did. As such the lineup needed to 1) be short; 2) have cash, even though the other 4 had cash (and I wasn't feeling Rent); 3) start with a car or cash. Still I wasn't expecting things to turn out quite THAT well! Great work - some big scores all around this week. My last-second change of Eazy from W to L ended up giving me the win. Not surprised someone came up with the exact same slotting :)

I will sheepishly admit I went digging through the FPG forum yesterday and I found at least 3 or 4 17 and 18 MG scores. Didn't see any 19 though. So no, I'm not 2nd :( But it was a big day.

Can you double check things Fiery? I was fairly convinced my score is 5/22. Could have a result wrong in my head  or something like that, but I swear I was 5/22.

I got 4th place and 10MG/50CP from only 3 correct games?!?!? Wowzers. Such a reverse of a couple FPG's back where I had the most CG but a pitiful MG/CP score.

You're both wrong. It's not 4/17 or 5/22, but rather 5/21.

I was originally going to pick 1/2 Off, then I realized it had either been played the same week or the previous week, so I removed it from my list.  Later on, I realized I was looking at the wrong week of shows but for some reason still thought 1/2 Off was unlikely to appear.
I should have noticed that the other 4 episodes that week had a cash game, so it seemed very likely 1/2 Off was going to show up.

I have no idea how I screwed that up.  But it's fixed now.

Wow, back-to-back bronze. CBS can shuffling shows all they like, I seem to play better when they do.  :P

No, this would make it extremely likely that 1/2 Off would not show up.  But it must have been because of that imaginary Celeb Week (we can still change lineups once that got canceled), and I wonder how many people picked up on that instead of choosing a cash game without recognizing that 4 had already been played.
