I thought Drew did a great job hosting today; he was talkative and made the show exciting.  Today's lineup was okay, even without a GP game.

Actually, Drew, you can walk away with nothing in Punch-a-Bunch if you don't get any punches.  Other than that, Drew hosted it perfectly.

Today's Do the Math setup was rather anticlimactic.  It would have been better with the grill on the right and the hadbags on the left.

It looks like Alecia panicked a bit in Bonkers, even before the paddle fell off.

Nice win by Kyle on Cover Up.

The displays used for prize #2 in Most Expen$ive matched the prop.  Are those new?

SCs:
$27,250 (-$7,545)
$40,250 (-$71) :dsw:

My two cents:

Punch a Bunch: For a moment, I thought she won the $25K. But $5K is okay.
Do the Math: Tough break.
That's Too Much: Pricey Chrysler. Tough break, nonetheless.
Bonkers: Tough break there, too.
Cover-Up: Finally, our first car game win of the week (and the whole season), and it had to be on Cover-Up's first playing of the season! And a fitting opening gag, too.
Most Expensive: Piece of cake.

Showcases: Although both Showcases were equally awesome, no matter what moneygamelover thinks, the better car was the Mercedes-Benz CLA-250, no excuses.

I could almost go so far as to say this was better than Monday's episode. We had $5K won un Punch-a-Bunch, Cover Up was won and there was a Mercedes showcase. Overall a decently exciting showcase and in my opinion best of the week so far. I was a little taken back by what Drew said at the end of Bonkers. She began to make changes BEFORE the buzzer but didn't get to hit the button until after the buzzer and Drew stated that that try wouldn't count. What if she was right on that last attempt?

THE BAD NEWS:

Do The Math: For some reason, I really didn't think that wasn't too hard to figure out, especially with that expensive portable grill.

That's Too Much: Might as well call it That's Too 7th..........That seemed a little fair to start it with the $18,012 tag, but it was unfortunate that Katherine stopped too early.

Bonkers: Alecia didn't really had to bother picking up that paddle............That kinda wasted some time right there.

THE NOT-SO-BAD NEWS:

Punch-A-Bunch: With the way Drew was acting on the first reveal, I thought we were gonna have another solid $25K win. But hey, Ashley winning 5 grand is still good. And she won a pretty good SC, too!

THE GOOD NEWS:

Cover Up: Kyle was great on it! That recent theme was a pain for me to see in SD, though.

ME: Easy win for Beau!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

So far, this week is picking up now and we got the first car game win of the season.............Now hopefully we can end the week on a high note, despite the questionable Clock Game revamp.

Cover Up's theme of 43 candles today demonstrates that the lighting needs to be toned down a bit. Everything's too bright!

PaB: Not too bad of a start, especially when the last slip punched was one of those pesky $100s.

DtM: Shouldn't have been lost, IMO.

TTM: I would've gone one space too many; Katherine would've won if that '15 Chrysler 200 LX ($22,695) had been offered instead.

Bonkers: Moving that first marker down on the second try cost Alecia, IMO.

Cu: Finally, a car game won this week! I was thinking 3 for the last digit.

ME: Easy.

Showcases: Kyle would've been better off using his bid on the Showcase Ashley bid on.

Pretty good show today.

To put some perspective into Kyle's Cover Up win, think about this:

Season 42: its first win wasn't until December 23rd
Season 41: its first win wasn't until February 22nd
Season 40: its first win wasn't until April 26th

It may not mean much in the grand scheme of things, but it's refreshing to see Cover Up not be on a winless streak to start a season.

Bonkers: Moving that first marker down on the second try cost Alecia, IMO.

Considering that the first marker being down was part of the correct solution, this doesn't make sense.

Not sure how I feel about Drew encouraging Ashley to bail with $5,000 in Punchy. It was certainly the best decision to make given the odds, but he should have let her decide that for herself. What if the next hole had contained the $25,000 slip? Drew's encouragement might would have kept her from winning it, had he been an influence in her decision to stop.

That grill in DTM was deceptively expensive. Where the hell did they find that thing?

I didn't think TTM was too difficult. I pegged the car to be around $25,000, myself.

Cheap Bahamas trip in Bonkers. I was quite surprised to see it priced so low. Maybe I should consider taking a vacation there. :P

Fantastic win in Cover Up. It took 4 shows into the new season to finally get an automobile win, and this one is certainly a great win to start us off with.

The ATV was obviously the most expensive prize, so much so that I thought the Mac was instead. I need to stop assuming every game is set up to be deceptive.

Holy good lord, why where were these showcases not in the premiere? It is premiere week I suppose, but goodness were those a bit over-the-top for just a typical show. That Mercedes-Benz was cheap, though. Had me fooled...

$5,000 is a decent way to start Punch-a-Bunch's season.

That was one fancy grill in Do the Math.  I was not expecting it to be anywhere near $3,495.

It's almost unfathomable that Cover Up is starting the season with a winning record.

I don't know what Kyle was thinking, bidding only $32,000 on the Mercedes showcase.  It might be a cheap Mercedes, but it's still a Mercedes.

My showcase bids:
Hyundai--$32,707
Mercedes--$45,707
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Punch a Bunch: Drew did a much better job of hosting today. The buildup was fantastic and didn't spoil the $5000 result. I found myself wondering whether it was a fake buildup to end in a $500 or less card or the $10000 card. I was surprised when it turned out to be the $5000 card. Keeping the $5000 was the right thing for today's contestant to do and got the show off to a happy start.

Do the Math: Not my favorite prizes, I especially don't care for the handbags. Still too bad it was lost. That TV was a great contestants row prize though.

That's Too Much: It's unfortunate that the Chrysler 200 Limited wasn't won. But I had no clue what the right answer was. I'd have only won this if I really lucked out.

Bonkers: The Bahamas is a nice trip destination and I like the maps that Price has been showing us the last couple years. That said it wasn't a particularly good playing. The wasting time picking the paddles up was particularly bad. Remember, Bonkers isn't a test of pricing skill, it's a test of maximizing your guesses. Today's contestant probably cost herself two guesses by doing that.

Cover Up: Cover Up is still one of Drew's best games. That rules explanation was really clear and really explained what the real concept is. And what an exciting finish. Really suspenseful to see the ones digit come down to a 1 out of 4 chance and how thrilling to see the Nissan Frontier won.

Most Expensive: An easy win of some nice prizes.

Showcases: Both showcases were fantastic so as long as we didn't have a double overbid we were in good shape.

Lineup: Enjoyable: Do the Math is one of the best two prize games on the show and Bonkers and Cover Up are always fun. Most Expensive, though not the best game on the show, is an enjoyable game that is very versatile from a slotting point of view and it makes for an enjoyable closer. Punch a Bunch I think slots best as the lead off hitter because if it becomes a letdown you have plenty of show to recover but if something good happens it gets the show off to a great start. I'm not crazy about That's Too Much but it does slot well third. The only game in today's lineup that's a favorite of mine is Do the Math but what I got today was a lineup of enjoyable games that were slotted well.

Overall, two full wins, including our first car win of the year, $5000 won in Punchy, a good day from Drew, an enjoyable lineups, and a car showcase won mean this was a very good show today.
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

Definitely agree with you on today's Cover Up win, and with your thoughts on the Mercedes. I bid $45K on that entire showcase; I would have overbid by more than just a little.

Did you notice that Ashley and her friend went from the car to playing on the bed in the bedroom at the end of the show? How often do you see that?  :)

I wonder if Most Expensive was so easy because with worse luck the show could have easily been 0/5 going into that game and they didn't want that in premier week.
