A win is also possible if you switch the coating mix into the mailbox and put the mouthwash in its place with the couscous ($4.99 + $2.99 = $7.98)

Pretty good episode today.

3 wins, including a car win, 2 partial wins, and only 1 loss.

A partial win is where the contestant wins something, but doesn't get the big prize.

Examples: In Any Number, when the contestant wins the medium prize instead of the car.
Most Bailouts, except for when someone only wins an SP in Switcheroo.

Flip Flop: Nice win of a nice Maui trip. This is why contestants should go with their own instincts instead of listening to the audience or any member(s) thereof. Drew noted that the audience wasn't with today's contestant but he's on his way to Maui now.

Pay the Rent: $5000 is a good day on a game show. I think most contestants have a good feel on when they should bailout. Tough setup considering a $1.29 item belonged on the second floor. The tablet was an excellent contestants row prize as well.

Dice Game: Today's contestant didn't have very good luck on the rolls but when the hundreds digit was revealed to be a 2 I thought a win was coming. Awesome to the Chevy Sonic won.

One Wrong Price: I would have lost by picking the accessories. I'm really surprised a computer with those specs wasn't more expensive. The computer and Golden West pool table were nice prizes though the accessories aren't my thing. Good win.

Balance Game: Too bad the Atvs weren't won. The setup was reasonable though.

Any Number: It was heartbreaking that the Dodge Avenger wasn't won after today's contestant came so close but the Samsung TV was a fantastic 3 digit prize.

Showcases: The Ford Fiesta showcase was the better showcase and it was wonderful to see it won.

Lineup: Very good: Dice Game and Any Number are favorites and Any Number is a great closer. Balance Game is a strong 1 prize game. Flip Flop is an enjoyable little game and if you want to use a 1 prize game as a lead off hitter Flip Flop is a far better choice than Squeeze Play. The only reason this lineup fails to earn a great rating is that One Wrong Price is one of the dullest games on the show. No lineup that includes One Wrong Price can earn a great rating.

Overall: A great Dice Game segment, 3 wins including a car game win, a car showcase won, $5000 and a TV won on a bailout and a draw, and a very good lineup made this a very good show. :)
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

THE BAD NEWS:

Balance Game: The only solid loss today............I had a feeling that the ATVs were a little pricey.

THE NOT-SO-BAD NEWS:

Pay The Rent: Another attempt to start with the cheapest price. Here's another winning combo (which Fieldsy already pointed out):

$4.49
$4.99 + $2.99 = $7.98
$6.99 + $1.29 = $8.28
$8.48

At least Kerry got a G-bar (with the addition of the 5 grand from Rent) on the wheel and won her SC.

Any Number: I assumed that the 1 would be the final number of the car, but Amanda got a TV.

THE GOOD NEWS:

Flip-Flop: Good job by William!

Dice Game: Excellent win from Edwin! I was a little skittish with that 3rd number, but it was a decent-looking price.

One Wrong Price: Easy setup and win for April!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

Another good 3/6-er with a tricky Rent setup..........George, however, needs to ease up on the singing.  :P

PtR: There were two winning combinations in this playing, if nobody hasn't mentioned it already.

Dice: Except for his first roll, Erwin's rolls weren't overly kind, but they all worked out for him because he went with the odds when he should have.

an: I'm a little surprised the car wasn't won after Amanda got three out of the four car numbers in a row beginning w/ her second selections; not sure why she nor her friends ever considered the 6.

I haven't known if it's just my CBS affiliate, but for the last few weeks, the audio (most noticeably the opening) has sounded a bit muffled and distant. Other shows seem fine, and it's not my ears!

Anybody else notice anything different in that regard, or could it possibly just be my affiliate?
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

Pretty good show today, despite Rent being its usual self. Balance was honestly a toss-up, the ATV's just as easily could've been $3,049 each. Any Number was painful to see after she got so close so quickly, and when she said 0 at the end it was obvious for LFAT's that it was all over. The showcase themes weren't the best or most creative, to say the least.

PtR: There were two winning combinations in this playing, if nobody hasn't mentioned it already.

They have mentioned it, in the very first 2 replies to this thread.

It was weird seeing Any Number on the TV right before they played Any Number. Seems like it's really rare that they show playings of a pricing game they're about to play.

Speaking of Any Number, did anyone else notice that the "lights" seemed to be flickering throughout the game, as if they weren't quite working right? I wonder what caused that, but regardless, I kinda' liked the "not perfect" feel it gave the game, kinda' like that old burnt-out bulb Five Price Tags had.
