Has there ever been a Bullseye Setup where picking only 1 of an Grocery Item would had hit the Bullseye? I think I saw it happen once years ago , but I don't remember.

I've decided to forego BAD NEWS and GOOD NEWS today this time (seems the DOB already made it unnecessary), but there were a lot of unusual going on today.

This must be the first time for me where on Bully, picking just one of any item would immediately hit the bullseye. And I find it funny that the ARP of SC1 would almost be exact to the price of that Fusion on 'Roo...And by almost, I mean, if you mixed up the other 2 and 3.

And thought that the banter between Rachel and Amber on the Ping-Pong table was good, after that accident by Rachel from the first IUFB.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

It was a OK 4/6-er, but the DOB was very unfortunate. Now I hope that tomorrow's Grammy special won't be like the one from past seasons, especially the one from last season*.

Pretty low winnings for a 4/6 show. There are skunked shows that awarded more than this.

Anybody notice the blooper in "That's Too Much"?  The first 2 prices flipped over at the exact same time.

One-Bids: Red was the hot spot today. Unfortunately for Wilheim, having the opportunity to bid last four times and not make it up on stage is just a sign of poor tactics. A 1-up could have worked twice, and especially poor is his bid on the cellphone where it probably wouldn't even cover the phone itself. That was a funny blooper on the ping pop table by Amber though.  :D

That's Too Much!: An appropriately named car in terms of the game's difficulty (though in reality its only average for those with good pricing knowledge, mostly coming down to two choices). Challengers are nice cars similar to old Pontiac Grand Prix coupes, and it shows here with an early call.

Bullseye: I'm not a big fan of clothing prizes, but interesting to see the single item for a win used for the first time in my memory. That said, any LFaT should never guess the number of items on something that has already been called since we already had the items where it would take one or two to win. At least Aretha got lucky on the second chance.

Shopping Spree: Fairly Easy. Some in chat picked the Espresso, but stainless steel appliances still aren't cheap despite being a trend for two decades now.

Switcheroo: Not the best playing, changing only two prizes during the second chance, plus the SPs weren't the easiest either to price.

One Right Price, Freeze Frame: Fairly Easy.

Showcase Showdown: Nice to see a $1,000 won.

Showcases: It's disappointing when during a non-dream car, Strikes, TP, or Golden Road show both showcases are cheaper than the most expensive car offered. While having a WWP 15' foot boat in the one with the staycation and Spain sounds fairly cheap, a 14' Sailboat is even worse. The Corolla showcase was decent if unimpressive, as a hammock and outdoor TV are nicely useful prizes if you don't live in a condo or apartment. And having a WSD cap off a double overbid just feels so painful.

Overall:  OK lineup, though I would have switched Freeze Frame with Bullseye for a M-S-M-L-S-L pattern of pricing game lengths. That said, given 4 games were won, this show is satisfactory, but the fact that no car, showcase, or cash games were won along with the middling lineup show that a big moment never really came.

Show Grade: C+

That's Too Much: A challenging game for sure with the Dodge being more expensive than a typical Dodge and it being used in a one choice one chance game: I actually would have stood here though as would have either won or lost by stopping one place too soon. It's unfortunate that the Dodge Challenger wasn't won. Challenging way to start a show.

Bullseye: By putting the Hidden Bullseye behind the napkins this was setup to be won in the event that today's contestant used the napkins which she did. Very few contestants would have picked four or more napkins. Lame prize though. Designer clothes and shoes are so not my thing that I were a contestant today I'd have been pretty bummed out if I had ended up playing this game. Nevertheless, as a viewer, I'll always say yes to seeing a win. At least the LG washer and dryer was a nice contestants row prize.

Shopping Spree: Setup to be won. The Honda ATV and the MSI computer were obvious choices to pick. It comes down to the dishwasher and the expresso machine. Even if you under price the dishwasher it was pretty clear to me that the expresso machine was going to be the cheapest prize here. Definitely better prizes than Bullseye. The MSI computer and the Honda ATV were excellent prizes and the dishwasher was a useful prize. Really glad to see this won.

Switcheroo: It's too bad the Ford Fusion wasn't won. This just never had a very good feel to it. It kinda felt all along that it would be lost.

One Right Price: Very easy setup. The $3047 was clearly too expensive for the elliptical trainer and was obviously a reasonable price for the pizza oven. Very easy win of some decent prizes. The Samsung smartphone was a fantastic contestants row prize.

Freeze Frame: This has to be the easiest setup I can remember ever seeing on Freeze Frame: The prices below $5941 were clearly too cheap and the prices above $591 were clearly too expensive. A practically given away win of a nice Chicago trip.

Showcases: The Toyota Corolla showcase was definitely the better showcase. Of the real story is the double overbid. That definitely ended the day on a downer.

Lineup: Mixed: Bullseye and Switcheroo are both favorites. Shopping Spree is an enjoyable game. But That's Too Much is our dullest car game and a terrible lead off hitter. I like Freeze Frame but don't think it makes the best closer. I don't think it's a bad closer but I've always preferred it as an early in the show. game. One Right Price is a game whose inclusion neither helps nor hurts lineups. I too would have liked this lineup better with Freeze Frame second and Bullseye sixth. My position is that I prefer Freeze Frame as an early in the show game and Bullseye makes a wonderful closer. As it is this lineup was mixed. Not the best and not the worst.

Overall: Despite this being a 4 win show, I have to agree with the previously stated views that this was show was only average. While a 4 win show normally would achieve a"very good" rating and could get a"great" rating in some cases with this show we saw no car wins nor any major cash prize wins and that double overbid really hurt. Had a showcase been won this show would have gotten a "good" rating and had the car showcase been won this show would have gotten a"very good" rating. The lineup didn't contribute to improving the rating either and the undesirable prize in Bullseye didn't help. So this ends up as an average show

Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

I've seen times in TTM when 2 prices would flip at the same time but they were at least 2 prices apart.  This is the 1st time I can remember 2 adjacent prices flipping at the same time.  Also I was surprised at how much the Challenger actually cost.  I thought it was $23,000-$24,000 something.  That was a cruel trick in Bullseye making something over $10.  This is the 1st time I've ever seen or read about on a recap needing only 1 of a certain item to hit the bullseye.  Who'd have ever thought that would happen?  It's alway been at least 2 needed to hit the bullseye before.

Hmmm, I'm liking the concept of this instant win Bulls-eye GP. It benefits the game on two fronts

1) If used properly, it rewards savvy shoppers/contestants with an easy win (but not too easy - putting a GP like Allegra would be too much of a gimmie)

2) There's no way the Secret Bullseye would be underneath there (unless you want a call from Standards and Practices), so if a contestant would steer clear of the one shot product, and hit with the other ones, their odds of finding the secret bullseye goes up.

Wow, there are people who actually like what they did with Bullseye?  That was ridiculously mean -- maybe one person every five years only buys one of something.  Whoever set the game up that way should be ashamed.

That said, this was actually a really good show, especially with the blooper during the first Item up for Bids that they were able to build on throughout the whole episode.
