That’s the first wipeout/no money win I’ve seen in To The Penny. It is the actual first one?

And another wipeout in Five Price Tags. We didn’t get to see any of the price tags illuminated, one at a time that is. Booooo! :-)

Combined with the $229 overbid in the showcase, something tells me this was a hideous episode.

Yep, first TTP where the contestant left with nothing.  At first I was shaking my head since David's chances at success was so slim, but I don't think it was a big deal.  $3,000 is still $3,000, but it felt like it was worth it.  The show's had people lose more money in other games, so no big deal.  If it were $6K or more, that's a different story IMO.

I believe there was a 5PT wipeout around this time last year.  I did not like the setup for the small prizes.  Lina did rebound (albeit a backdoor win in the showcase).

Edited to add:

Combined with the $229 overbid in the showcase, something tells me this was a hideous episode.

It was about average.  The show opened up with David losing Penny, but not before his perfect One Bid.  It went up from there before crashing down, with a perfect Gridlock!  After a nightmare in 5 Price Tags, the show turned.  Lina wasn't winning the game anyway, but as mentioned by someone elsewhere, there shouldn't be a wipeout in the game.  Maybe one or two at least, but you sorta have to try to go through the game without any choices

Wow. That was a heartbreak in the Showcase. The West Coast cut into a special report as Drew said "Actual retail price, $46 thousand....." for the confirmation vote. That was pretty inconvienent.

I had a nice chuckle at Rachel just pushing the car in Gridlock down to the bottom of the board because it was taking forever to move. The 18 car was a bit slow to move too.

I still can't get over how clunky the mechanism is in Gridlock. The fact that they always have to cut away to avoid showing the model re-setting a wrong guess seems painfully obvious to me. I feel like they either need to make it happen mechanically without model involvement or just show the model resetting it. We see them re-set things in other games, so I don't know why they think they have to avoid it here.

We went from the most expensive prize package offered this season in ME in the previous playing , to a prize package less than $6k.
It hasn't been this low in a ME playing since 10/7/2014 , ( $4,799 , same playing also offered the last sub $3k prize that was the most expensive , $2600 )

At least David got the Baking Soda right on the first try. I fear for the day that someone loses on the second item after just giving three wrong answers. Kinda like a rough Pocket Change playing. Still more watchable than Five Price Tags this time.

Even with those losses, I think I'd consider it an above average show. Another car win (from a perfect Gridlock playing) along with other prizes, and a showcase was won today.
