Dully noted...however, according to the URL (if you look at the comments), it seems that Randy West was not made aware of Marty's death until recently, it seems.

The Godfather of Poker: Doyle Brunson passes away

The link to The Spun (edited into this post after I originally posted it) and other sites were not available as this news just broke within the hour.  Below is a link to a tweet from a close friend Daniel Negreanu, which pretty much ends any chance that it's false.  Of course if it's false, that a great thing, but getting to 89 (just under 3 months to 90) is a pretty good run.
