I guess there's a better way, like saying "I will let the sound effects lady tell us if she's won $10,000 or not," but the "I'm not even gonna look" bit in Grand Game just doesn't work; there's like no buildup for a huge win or depressing loss.  Surprisingly, Rich DiPirro had that shot of Drew after the reveal, you'd expect him to looked bummed, but he was rather indifferent.

Is it me or do the Balance Game scales take a pretty long time to tip compared to previous years?

I can't describe how happy we all were in chat to see Dice Game return from a long hiatus, and with its sportstype displays intact!  I was afraid that the second number was going to be a one, and the last one a two or one, but Nora pulled off a very exciting win.

Drew, on the other hand, he went through the number reveals in Dice Game acting like a total goof, laughing all the time, and the segment seemed pretty edited down.

It's great to see One Away's new reveal again, with the head-on shot of the Giant Price Tag and seeing it rise to reveal the game.  It was sure great to see Sheena win the car and fly into it upon winning.

Maybe I'm the only one who noticed, but I find it odd that all three SP's in Cliff Hangers today were related to each other, and have an Asian flare about them.

It sure was great to see the first dollars on the wheel of the season, shame some bonus money couldn't be awarded.

The showcases were actually quite good and made sense, I guess there's hope for this season's showcases.  I hope that Drew or whomever is writing them now can dish out some cool ones like last season's.

Well - easily the best show we've had so far, in my opinion.

It was great to see Dice Game again, and it was good to finally have 4 wins. I don't know whether the "Ladies, do I have..." bit instead of the "Mighty Sound Effects Lady" was a reference to the way Bob used to do the game or not, but nevertheless, it was nice to hear.

Again, the showcases were consistent, and not stupid or gimmicky.

Wow... I really have nothing negative at all to say today!  :-)

I find it ironic how the show tries to mix up the prizes and offer "cool" things like over-stuffed trips and impossible to price items to make the show less "predictable." Yet, the same things happen every single time a show airs.

I think there were some technical glitches with Dice Game that had to be edited out... well really they didn't HAVE to be, but I guess I can see why they stopped tape to correct the glitches, which may be why Drew was laughing.

Dicey's back! Seeing that lifted my spirits for today's show. Nora was also a great contestant and I was rooting for her all along; too bad she didn't win her showcase. Despite the bad bid in the first IUFB, Kevin handled Cliff Hangers nicely even though he didn't use the progressive cost trick. The prizes they picked were consistent enough anyway.

And this is the first time I've ever seen a shower with a built-in TV set. Just throwing that out there.

-Grandy: OK, what the heck happened???? 6/10
-Balance: That thing sure did look high. 8/10
-Dicey: since when is the HHR that high? :O 9/10
-SD1: 5/5

-Cliffy: His low 3rd guess worked today...phew. 9/10
-SD2: 5/5
-SC1: Not too bad. 4/5
-SC2: I guess this worked OK...still think private chef in person is a waste of time. 4/5
-Results: Geez, some really bad bids here. Private jet, Rome, Viking...all underestimated. 7/10
-Drew: I think Dicey's 2nd digit was revealed early, so that was a non-issue. Otherwise normal 8/10

PGs: 51/60
SDs: 10/10
SCs: 15/20
Drew: 8/10

Nice to have a good episode for once. Too bad the deceptively high prices of the showcases had to take some of the air out of its sails.

I assumed this is what happened too. This was the best show of the season so far. Nice lineup today.

Good show today. We finally got a good number of wins. Drew was kinda off today and the editing didn't help but Drew had days in which he was much worse. I said in my overview of the first episode of the season that the IUFB displays would more than likely go faster as the season moves on and I was right. The new IUFB displays now type the numbers as fast as the old ones. Also it was nice to see the darker blue background for the readout on the showcase podiums. Made the player's bids a lot easier to read.

*Grand Game: Thought that she would win it all especially since Drew was playing around.

*Balance Game: Another loss... at this point I thought the show was going to be just like all the other ones this week.

*Dice Game: Wow... nice to see this back and it was good to see it be won after seeing it gone for so long. Was really happy to see Nora win the car due to what she had recently been through.

*Double Prices: Pretty easy imo.

*One Away: Great win with a nice contestant.

*Cliffhangers: Fantastic playing. It was kinda funny hearing .4 seconds of the cliffhanger theme.

*Showcases: No cars but I thought that they were pretty good nonetheless. Seems that the showcases are going back to the way they were pre season 37 and that's a good thing.

Drew's Hosting: 75%

Pricing Game Lineup: 90%

Pricing Game Wins: 67%

Prizes: 85%

Tilt: 90% (Nice to see more winners than losers after what happened the past two episodes. If they replaced cliffhangers with plinko and removed balance game for a quickie game, this would have been a good season premiere episode. Heck, the episode alone without my suggestions would of been a better season premiere than the actual season premiere. Best episode of the season so far and nice to see the improvements to the displays. Also, I'm really loving the camera shots before the showcase showdowns. It was cool seeing Rich say his line and then seeing him flip the page to his script.)

Final Score for Episode: 8.0 out of 10

Honestly, it seems there was a lot of editing going on in this show today.  When they played DP, it seemed they abruptly cut to drew standing by the door with the contestant.  And actually with dice game, I am wondering if when they first lifted the price tag, if the numbers were already lit up and they had to stop tape to get them off the board, then restart tape and just act like they didn't know anything.

I agree with other posters; it seemed like there was trouble/technical goofs with the reveal in Dice Game, causing Drew to laugh, and much editing ensued.

I applaud Sheena for playing One Away the right way.  Drew's way is annoying.

I'll have to watch that segment again.

As a recommendation, we should ask on the official website's forum if they plan to post any outtakes and bloopers that happened on the aired episode, so we can uncover what those edits actually were. As long as we play nice...
