Well, that's #1068687 meh show this season. I thought Cliff - Cover to start on Cover's 1st win was awkward... then it's essentially reused!

I swear Mike's been spooked on Cover after its wins to change strategy... but last digit, look, he did go -3. I think -1 is more likely than xxx1x, I'm curious if such a setup could get a win as the season goes down.

Yikes, Magic # set up for a loss, and again it happens on a good playing. On the other hand, Magic # potentially being a monthly game now is excellent news, we'll have to see in the fall.

What the heck is up with this Stack 1st epidemic? It's wasting earned hard GPs. Also, very lazy car choice, they've done this price with this game very recently.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

It was too much of a nail-biter on Cliffy.........The yodel guy lives to sing another day!

Tough break for Alejandro on Stack The Deck............ And on his 45th birthday no less. Seems pointless to keep the GPS units now if you don't have a new car to go with them IMHO.

Another day, another 2/6 show with no car game wins and George modeling (sighing in disgust). You think Mike would do like he did last season and get Tiffany from Let's Make A Deal to be the guest model today, but I guess I was asking for too much.

Today's show was ok but not as good as i was expecting with cover up, magic #, stack the deck and most expensive setup for losses.
pepe! It took us all summer to clean out all the skunk stink from seasons 36, 37, 38, 39, and 40!!!

Blah. Drew gave it his best effort today, but I think even he knew this show was doomed the second "Cover Up" and "Stack The Deck" were written on the same lineup. Very typical playings of both of those. And interesting to see Magic # back to hard setups. That setup was an interesting experiment, because people tend to overprice that cheap Honda motorcycle anyway, so it could have been won if Tiffany had just priced it a bit more. :)

Both showcase showdowns produced unusual outcomes. In one, staying on 55 was correct; in the other, spinning on 65 was correct!

Timings:
Cover Up (5) - 4:45
Cliff Hangers (4.5) - 4:51
Magic # (4.5) - 4:05
Flip Flop (3.5) - 3:27
Stack The Deck (5.5) - 5:30
Most Expensive (3.5) - 4:02
Total (26.5): 26:40

Lordy, say what you will about the setup of the grocery items in Stack the Deck, but it boils down to the pricing aspect of the game.

The way the cars are priced nowadays, I'd always go the last three digits. With 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 as the number choices, and the price being $17,254 ... assuming all three GP questions are guessed correctly:

• You KNOW the first number is 1.
• The second number, then, becomes 50-50 – 7 or 8. At least you can make a reasonable guess. If you win, you beat the game; congratulations. If you lose, OK, but you at least gave yourself a shot.

Even with the two guesses by the contestant, at the very least I'd go with the third and fourth numbers. By Alejandro choosing the first digit, when even HE KNEW (or should have known) that Chevrolet Sonics rarely, if ever, top $20,000 ... he set up his own loss, IMO.

Well... there was definitely a second 1 in that Cover Up price.  I didn't expect it to be the last number, though.

Kathy... wow, what can I say about her?  After doing so well on the first two Cliffy SPs, I thought she screwed herself by going only $17 on the last one.  I thought that tote would be at least $40.

Just when I thought contestants were finally figuring out Magic Number again, Tiffany completely lowballs the motorbike.  I mean, come on... since when do contestants underprice motorbikes?

Two PGs for trips?  Seriously?

Normally, I would say something like "Come on, Mike... Stack the Deck is hard enough to win already"... but with contestants like Alejandro making Stack the Deck harder for themselves by taking the first number, Mike's GP and car price setups are completely irrelevant.

My showcase bids:
:frbs: --$25,107
Car--$25,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

A couple of Things That Make You Go Hmm today.

What's with bidding $17 on something when you have $18 to play with?  The item isn't going to be −$1!!!  She almost turned an easy win into a disastrous loss.

Asking for the first number free in Stack the Deck?  Oy!

I see that Mike has switched to making the last number the lowest one. It does make it a little more winnable while still being hard...

Cathy really evaded an epic fail on Cliff Hangers there. It did make the game more exciting, though.

Magic # was evil; less than $1,000 difference in the two prices there. (I would have lost by going over the steam shower with $4,000.) Kind of hard to blame Tiffany for that loss, considering she wasn't under by that much; she did very well on her showcase to make up for it.

And what is with these people always asking for the first digit in Stack the Deck? That game is vicious enough as it is! Did he really think that little Chevy Sonic might be over $20K?

Some people, myself included, think there is a possibility that a Chevy Sonic might cost over $20,000.  However, I would ask for the second number free, that way it is like having two digits free for the price of one.

Cliff Hangers:  I thought for sure Cathy was gonna lose when she said $17 for the wine tote.  What an exciting win! :-)
Magic #:  What an evil setup!
Flip Flop:  Nice job! :-)
Stack The Deck:  Why do contestants insist on choosing the first number for one of their free numbers?  It's a waste of a free number, IMO.

A so-so show overall, IMHO.
