Welcome back, daytime luxury car Hole in One [or Two]. It's been awhile. Glad to see you back.

Mike's hit pay-dirt with these past two shows. Forget Big Money week--this is the real deal. These have been two (in my opinion) well formulated shows. Even the lack of extra prize spreading like I alluded to in some of the Big Money week recaps isn't too much of an issue in this application. I hope the rest of the week follows like this.

My only real gripe about Hole in One or Two today is that, while the putting angle wasn't quite as awful as before, they still didn't use the proper, head-on, more perceptive and suspenseful shot. It wasn't as much of an issue today, though, since the outcome at that point was a foregone conclusion, and the contestant was in breathing range of the hole. Even Drew made the inspiration putt today. It was that kind of a playing.

By the way, when was the last time we had a perfect Hole in One or Two playing (groceries ordered correctly with no second putt)?

I also found it interesting that they bracketed Hole in One or Two with a $11,000 trip to Tuscany (but only five nights? Really?) and a $8,500 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

That was a nice shot of the BMW winner for the closed captionion spot before the first Showcase Showdown.

One let down (though by no means a deal-breaker) was hearing that cartoon-ish intro to Danger Price again. A few red flashers for decoration is alright, but the sound effect on top of it all is overbearing.

What a show today. Definitely the top show of the season.

All car games were won with a perfect Hole In One playing for a $87,000 BMW and a El-Cheapo win in Money Game.

A great show today. Everything went perfectly with Hole In One--that playing should be bottled.

Some bad luck on Plinko, but what can you do.

My two cents:

Push Over: Big trip, big win!
Hole in One: I had a feeling Jason would win that Beemer! But I didn't think Hole would be won this way! The $500 bonus won, Drew's successful inspiration putt, and a BMW winner! Already, the highlight of the season! (unless the rest of the week does better)
Range Game: Good win.
Danger Price: Tough break.
Money Game: Another El Cheapo win!
Plinko: Guess lady luck just wasn't on his side today. A rare goose egg.

It's shows like today that exemplify why Hole in One is one of the best pricing games ever created.

This show was just great all-around.

Well, that was certainly an interesting one. I figured at least one game where you don't have to actually guess the price of the car would be played this week, and it makes as much sense as anything else that it was Hole, because Hole is exciting, dramatic and....easy (and they did really want to give one of these away). They wanted to give the BMW away so much that they actually showed they know how to make the GPs easy today, unlike when the game is played for Chevy Sparks (seems backwards to me, but what do I know?) It did seem fate that the contestant worked on a golf course - made for a good moment and made it easier for him! It was also nice to see Drew finally make a putt, and from the back line to boot.

That being said, I think Hole was a last-second game substitution. I say this because this was show #6505K, or the 5th show to be taped. The lineup was also REALLY REALLY long (29.5 minutes DOB time) and the car actually had paint protection on it (a nice evil price of 87516). All this suggests to me that the first 4 games went 0/4 and they were desperate enough to get a win this week that, if they had gotten a win to that point, they would have played Stack the Deck, but because they didn't, they subbed this in. Come on, can't you just imagine that 1456789 setup with 3 impossible GP pairs? :) Would have made the lineup shorter too (and this show was edited to death). Just throwing a theory out there that makes sense to me. Hole ended up being a good choice though.

Pushover: Not the easiest setup in the world in my book, but it was won.

HiOoT: What an OUTSTANDING time for a perfect playing of this PG to happen!!!!!

Range: What a perfect first half!

Danger: I had a feeling Monique lost when she chose the shoes.

MG: After picking the 18, I misinterpreted Micheal's 3rd choice of El Cheapo (07) as 75, but it's a good thing he still nabbed him!

P!: What a bummer a $0 win happened after so much goodness happened today.

Showcases: I had a feeling Rachel was over on Showcase #2.

To me, this would've been a perfect 10 had it not been for P!.

This is why Hole in One is my favorite game on the show. I honestly didn't think those GPs were all that easy, but I was wrong. Having the $500 bonus won, Drew's inspirational put being nailed, the contestant putting right there at the hole...and, oh yeah, a BMW convertible was won....all of this made for a terrific Hole in One playing. And wouldn't you know it, Jason just happens to work at a golf course. This couldn't have been executed any better.

I'm kind of glad Danger Price was lost, otherwise, Plinko would have killed the perfect show. 4/6 with two cars won is an excellent outcome for any show, regardless if one of those cars happened to be a BMW. The lineup was stellar, the setups were easy, and the contestant selection was great, too. Mike, great job today. I'll put this show right up there with the Halloween special in terms of production.
Pardon my language, but I do believe we all need to calm the f*** down.

Now.............we're getting somewhere with Dream Car Week!

THE BAD NEWS:

Danger Price: I thought the computer should've been avoided. Pretty cheap shoes........Guess that wasn't meant to be won.

Plinko (or in today's case, "Stinko"): Rickard pretty much had bad luck (Despite just winning the ping-pong table and board game). Oh well, could've been worse............

THE GOOD NEWS:

Pushover: Tricky setup on this one. I assumed that it was $10115 for the Tuscany trip. Nice job by Rachel!

Range Game: It was a freaking Harley..............And Cynthia won it!

Money Game: El Cheapo has returned............Michael did great when he won the Civic!

Hole-In-One: This made me love one of my favorite games even more, thanks to today! It was pretty rare to see a "Perfecto" in quite some time. Not only he got the $500 bonus, but Jason won that sweet-looking BMW! All of that really came in sync, seeing that he works at a golf course.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

Day Two of Dream Car Week was very exciting, and the Hole-In-One win really washed away the memory of what happened on yesterday's Temptation (Even though it was unfortunate that Josephine decided to bail out and not go for the Porsche. I would've......). Mike really outdid himself today and hopefully, it will be like that the rest of the week.

Hole In One was magnificent.

They wanted to give the BMW away so much that they actually showed they know how to make the GPs easy today, unlike when the game is played for Chevy Sparks (seems backwards to me, but what do I know?)
A Chevy Spark (or any of the cars Hole In One is generally played for) is far less of a tax burden than a BMW, and the non-BMW cars are more likely to be taken and resold relatively quickly. By comparison, a BMW is not likely to be taken (again, due to the tax burden) and one would have a more difficult time reselling it for a profit after taxes.

I suspect that, if this week has gone 1/5, the show wanted there to be a point to this week and actually award a "Dream Car"...even if it amounts to the "s/he won a BIG PRIZE" mentality and the unlikelihood it shall be taken for the aforementioned reasons.
The above is my opinion and mine alone.

To answer your questions: yes, I am a guy and yes, I have a face. (I also have the occasional spurt of weirdness.)

Nice wins on 5-digit Push Over, Range Game, and Money Game! :-)  Hole In One was just pure awesomeness!

What horrible luck on Plinko!  I wonder if the board was "fixed", especially on the first chip. I say really stupid things whenever games are lost.

Great show overall, IMHO! :-)

I suspect that a tax burden of about $10-$15K, which could easily be financed through a bank, using the vehicle as collateral (with a "normal" car note-like payment), is not likely to keep people from accepting the vehicle.

Even if you decided not to keep it, there's always a market for high end vehicles and the contestant could easily sell it if he wanted to.
