Something I like about Drew that I haven't really talked about before: I like how, not all the time but once in awhile, he points out everyday things in contestant's row that sometimes disappear in the background, get missed, or get glossed over by viewers. Like, for example, he'll point out a "TPIR sandwich" (a premature one-up followed by a two-up on the same bid), and today where he pointed out the "dramatic" 701 bid despite there being no 700.

That is the best Cover Up playing that I've seen in a long time. While I can't be absolutely 100% sure that Kyle was intentionally doing the strategy (I would think that the farther-away $29,### would be a better fake choice versus $27,### over the obviously correct $23,###), this would make a pretty good training video for contestants telling them how they should play the game, and what a good playing of the game looks like.

Check Game looks like it had today's pricing game license to kill. A lot of people probably would have thought that Honda motorcycle was right around the $8,000-$9,000 range, maybe less a thousand or so. Or beyond that range. Like $15,000.

It looks like they can't make up their minds about the Danger Price klaxons. While I like them decorating the stage games, I certainly don't like possibly-distracting sirens bleeding over important announcements and descriptions. I think today's presentation style strikes a good balance and is perfect for the game. In any case, it's since to see a winner here. It seems like it hit a pretty hard streak a year or two ago with too many wipeouts mixed in.

Cu: FANTASTIC playing! Almost had our first-ever male to get all five turns on this game!

1RP: Easy.

Check: That total would've been nice for the previous format.

Clock: Well done!

LeR: The body wash should've been gotten since it wasn't an Ivory one, but it wasn't needed!

Danger: I would've also won this.

Showcases: Kyle didn't make the best decision to keep the first Showcase, since the car there was much cheaper than the one he already won. If he had bid $3K less than he did, it would've been a DSW & he would've been a GRAND CHAMP (in my book, that's when you win a car game & have a DSW; we hadn't had one in nearly three years).

Great show today.

Remember when I said about a car washout yesterday? Well..............Disregard that.  :P

THE BAD NEWS:

Check Game: The only loss from this lineup and the only game that stopped this from having a perfect show. Too bad Lindsey underpriced the Honda.

THE GOOD NEWS:

Cover Up: I'll admit that the Honest Abe gag was pretty good, so I'll give points to anyone who came up with that. Kyle did took this game step by step and that lead to a win!

ORP: Good to know Mickel picked the TV.

Clock Game: Oh, Clock Game...........How do I love thee? Let me count the ways:

$900 (for the camera).......
Drew: Lower.
$800........
Drew: Lower.
$700........
Drew: Higher.
$750........
Drew: Lower.
$740?
Drew: You got it!
:P Anyway, Steven did great on it..........and on his SC! We need to see more of Clock Game.

Let 'Em Roll: Yahtzee for Amber!

Danger Price: One of the easiest setups from that game and good win by Modupeola!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

Way better than the last two shows............Let's keep it up.

We've missed you, Clock Game.

Speak for yourself. I'd happily trade Clock Game missing some shows to see Magic # or maybe even Card Game again if we're lucky. I mean hell, towards the end of S41 we saw Clock Game every other week.

Personally, I really didn't think that Check Game was a good choice to present that motorcycle if someone were to make that mistake of grossly underprice that Honda motorcycle..............If it was on Pushover or CoG, then that would've made more sense.

Winning! Winning! This show is so much more fun when people are winning! The setups were pretty generous today, but it still takes some good luck (Cover Up) and some not-screwing-it-up (Clock Game, Danger Price) to get to 5/6.

I'd happily trade Clock Game missing some shows to see Magic # or maybe even Card Game again if we're lucky.

Funny, because those are the two games I would take an axe to, given the opportunity.

Drew seems like he's improved at hosting Clock Game, which just makes it more disappointing that it's mostly MIA this season. It's kind of weird to see prices ending in zero, but I feel like this has been happening more lately. You really do not need to do that, Mike. It's too easy. Let the contestant spit out the 91 92 93 94 95 96 97 98 99.

This is the first show I've actually been able to catch in its entirety in quite some time, and I must say, I picked a damn fine day to watch!

Cover Up got a win! An EPIC win! I honestly don't recall a more dragged out win in that game. I'm sure it's happened before, but wow. I still can't decide if Kyle was using strategy by picking the 7 over the 3 or if he just honestly thought the car was that high, but either way, it very much worked out in his favor.

I didn't think ORP was all that easy. Plasma televisions have become increasingly less expensive. That one kind of surprised me. Nice win, regardless.

Of course Check Game just had to ruin the perfect show...

Hey, Clock Game!

Risky decision to not bail with the $3000 in Roll, but it sure paid off!

Danger Price wasn't hard at all. Nice win.
Pardon my language, but I do believe we all need to calm the f*** down.

I haven't watched this episode yet but after reading the recap I definitely will.
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

Also, Kyle definitely did not use the Cover Up strategy on purpose. Be real—how many stage contestants do you think actually understand the game that well?

The fact that he made the last number a 5 and then a 0 should tell you everything.

Of course Check Game just had to ruin the perfect show...

Check Game is very sorry. It deeply regrets its actions and hope you can forgive it. It won't happen again.

I haven't watched this episode yet but after reading the recap I definitely will.

    Good to know.

    • Drum Set:  $1,772
    • Electric Guitar:  $2,999
    • Amp:  $5,940
    • Mediterranean Cruise:  $13,971

$10,000 in music equipment? Come on Mike I know you're trying to prevent a DOB but come on......

The fact that he made the last number a 5 and then a 0 should tell you everything.

I don't understand this. In fact, this season we have seen both a 5 and a 0 be correct for the last number. The only digits that have never been the last number so far this season are 2, 8, and 9. Yes, 0 and 5 tend to be avoided if they can be in games like Cover Up, but actually 0 and 5 were used as endings in 6 playings in Season 41, and 6 in Season 40 as well. Yes, you can say that *maybe* if they heard paint and fabric protection then they should not pick that but even still it's possible to be a 0 or 5, and it's hard to hear and pay attention options when you're up there anyways.

“For the premiere of season 30, CBS wanted to do a special primetime show. However, they asked that we also add a gimmick or a twist to make it truly special. I came up with the suggestion of taking the show on the road for the first time in its history." - Roger Dobkowitz

Speak for yourself. I'd happily trade Clock Game missing some shows to see Magic # or maybe even Card Game again if we're lucky. I mean hell, towards the end of S41 we saw Clock Game every other week.

Magic Number I can understand, but how does Clock Game getting less play help Card Game get more play?  Or play, period?  Wouldn't it be car games that need less play to make room for Card Game?
