I also would have lost Side by Side; I thought the higher price was correct.

Now or Then seemed very easy to me today.

Nice car wins today. Too bad about the double overbid.

Dayum another Stagey WSD and exactly $250.

Man, that Side By Side contestant was an idiot  ;-)  ;-) ;-)

So that was you on stage? (Just making a assumption since you have the same first name as your username, not calling you an idiot at all since Sidey was tough).

Thank you. It was incredibly hard to keep my mouth shut. As far as Side by Side goes, I was angry at myself for the rest of the show. 6687 was a much 'prettier' looking price, but I have to say, unless you have been a contestant, you have no idea how influential the audience really is. It was all boos for 6687, and cheers for 8766.

No problem. I'm sure a lot of people watching today also thought the higher price was correct. If trips to Seattle and Denver can cost more than $5000, surely a trip all the way to Croatia would be at least $8K. Please don't beat yourself up too much over it; you're not the first one to be led astray by the Price audience or to make a mistake on a game show (I know that firsthand).

Cool though that you made it up there. :)

It was an incredible, out of body experience. Just to add a few production notes:

The taping went very smoothly, no reaction re-shoots or any of the sort. The only pauses were to re-shoot the grocery items in Now or Then, as well the surfboard presentation in the Showcase. Originally, the surfboards were pushed over to Rachel, but the stagehand lost control and accidentally bumped into her (it was hilarious), so they re-shot the presentation of that. I know many of you aren't huge fans of Drew, but I can't say enough about him. Not only was he completely engaging, but while they were describing my prize he also described it to me so I would know exactly what I was playing for. It is loud in there!

As many have stated before, the wheel is HEAVY! I mean HEAVY! When Stephanie made it on stage for Any Number, I almost died when she danced to the Bean Stalker. I'm happy they let her go for a bit. Overall, it was an incredible experience. They did take me backstage after my pricing game to mic me up, not sure it was completely necessary for that, but whatever. Working in film and TV, I know you want to get the best audio possible.

Finally, the set. Man, does the set look pretty in person. I was never there during the Barker years, but I could never imagine a set being as eye popping as this set is. It is definitely the Vegas of TV show sets, just colors, colors everywhere.

Any other questions?

SBS: That's highway robbery right there- sorry, Josh.

NoT: Easy.

an: I was surprised both the 9 & 5 were in the car price & I was so certain the other 1 was going to be the fourth digit in the car price (because the reverse run of numbers trick was in effect in regards to the XBOX). Happy to see I was incorrect in the end & we again avoid a Car Game Shutout!

CG: Thomas played this game well even though he hasn't seen it enough.

Balance: Fairly easy, but not taken advantage of.

LeU: I didn't have much hope for Marcus on his first try- when he was mulling over the fourth digit towards the end of his first try, I feared he was going to change that 5 back to an 8.

Showcases: What a heartbreaking way to end a really good show- Thomas was over by exactly the amount he needed for a DSW.

Josh, most of the chat was right there with you on Side by Side.  Croatia can be really expensive ($13,000+ in the past two years, pretty certain), but apparently this hotel was secretly a pre-remodel Red Roof Inn.

Also, SUMMON THE SPINNING STAR BRIGADE.
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

To add one more thing, a recent discussion on here by Scott and others involved reactions to certain pricing games. There were definitely A LOT of moans when Clock Game came around on the turntable. Also, I ended up sitting next to Megan at some point and got to hold the Drew Dollar. What a cool memento that is to leave with!

Despite the D.O.B., this was still a good show.

THE BAD NEWS:

SBS: Seriously, no one was expecting Croatia to be that cheap...........Sorry Joshua lost on it, though. But at least, he got a TV.................And hopefully, a spinning star.  :-)

Balance Game: Easy setup. That's all.

THE GOOD NEWS:

NoT: Clean sweep by Joel!

A#: A true nail-biting win for Stephanie!

Clock Game: Thomas showed future contestants how to play that game like a pro!

LEU: I nailed that $18,450 price on the head...........Good thing that Marcus picked that on the second try.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

So far, this was a lot better (despite the ending of the show) than the previous 3 shows this week. Hopefully, we can end tomorrow on a high note.

Congrats that you made it on the show, Josh444. However, please still refrain from calling contestants idiots. They aren't here to defend themselves.

OH MY WHAT you called a contestant an idiot. You violated the rule about bashing contestants. Read up next time, yo!

In all seriousness, I was torn while watching Side by Side playing out. I'm not sure what I would have picked if given the time to think. I was thinking Croatia was a $9,000-ish trip, but on the other hand, I was favoring the $87 ending. If placed under the pomp, circumstance, and pressure, I probably would have picked $6,687 just to tick off the audience. It actually seems like, if you're not absolutely sure about something, picking the choice that ticks the audience off the most is actually a viable strategy for winning.

In any case, congratulations. :-)
