Bobby Parnell out for the remainder of the season to undergo Tommy John surgery. Jose Valverde will settle into the closer role.

Happy anniversary to Randy Johnson's perfect game. On Tuesday April 18th 2004 Randy Johnson pitched a perfect game for my Diamondbacks against the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field. Unfortunately we're the worst team in baseball this year mainly because our starting rotation has pitched like kindergarteners in far too many games.

My Rangers kicked some A's again--a three game early-season series sweep in Oakland by a tally of 3-0.  Martin Perez pitched his second consecutive CG shutout and has now tallied 26 consecutive scoreless innings. :-D

MLB rules (namely rule 8.02, which states that players may not use foreign substances on the baseball) explicitly state that it's a mandatory ten-game suspension.
