I don't like the sound of: "The New Price is Right."

This makes it sound like there will be set changes, game changes... a.k.a. MAJOR changes.

Well, I'm sure this is all nothing to worry about, but just the way it sounded the first time I read it had me worried!

This is Mark's second non-air show.  I'm guessing CBS is giving the final three candidates another round of test shows.  Will Todd and George get another test show as well?

The article also says The New Price is Right.  They're not change the whole title of the show because there will be a new host are they?

I would be very shocked if they did change the name. Sounds more to me like a case of someone getting a little overzealous in trying to hype up how this will be the NEW Price Is Right, since it has a NEW host...

Honestly, I can't picture a ton of sweeping changes to the show. Surely TPTB know better - especially with one huge change already on the way.

Keep in mind that the show was called The New Price is Right for Bob's first season as well.

Yeah that's true, but at that time the show hadn't been on the air for a few years and the rules were given an overhaul for Bob's version.  There was a pretty good reason to call it "new" in 1972.  If only the host is being changed for 2007 I don't think we need "new" strapped into the title.  Although, when Rich is introducing the host, he could say, "And now here is the NEW star of The Price Is Right."

O'Hurly is out of the running.  The final three hosting candidates are Mark Steines, Todd Newton,  and George (the tan man) Hamilton.

I for one am hoping for "And now, here's the HOST of The Price Is Right.... *insert name here*!!!!"

Sorry, but in my heart, there will only ever be one STAR of The Price Is Right.

It seems a bit odd to have an audition for host position on May 14th if CBS is supposed to announce the new host on either May 16th or 17th. (Unless CBS intends to announce in June, when Bob will tape his last show)

Just a thought.

That said, I still like the idea of having a second round of auditions for the host position.  (Keep in mind this was done for the announcers when Rod passed on, that some had second or third rounds befor Rich was chosen)

But they're not.

Well, May 16th is CBS Upfronts, as well as the MDS... it would be a good time to announce who the new host is.
