After seeing Lauren... I wish Stan had picked her instead. Although that thing Nicholas did with his tag was great.

HOTTIES: #56, Giovanna; #57, Erin; #58, Jessica :-D
BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY: Halick
SHOW GRADE: 2

Since the Innertube problem has been resolved, screencaps are back! Sorry they're a day late, but I was very busy.

Wow...it's almost deja-vu.  All six games were played Friday, *and* they stayed in the same halves.  Not in the same order, though.

I like Drew's little quips about the small prizes/grocery items.  Definitely brings a laugh to the show.

Showcase #1 was the showcase of the year, so far, for me.  That was just too cool.  And the punchline:  "the only way to settle a Showdown is with the Big Wheel".  The wheel was present and spun during the Showcase.
They can be close at the top, too.

SS - Dunno what I would've picked, but I knew she lost when she picked the guitars.  Can't blame her though.  I would've thought they were more expensive then the luggage.
5PT - Would've won 3 picks and would've picked 22, 23, and 24.  Didn't think a bare-bones 300M was worth more then that.
GG - Would've won, however, I would've used a new strategy (that Erin might've used) of picking the most expensive of the correct products as second to last.  That way, if I was wrong I'd walk away with something rather then nothing, and it would make the last pick all that much easier.
SP - Simple, though it COULD'VE been the first 9 also.
CU - Would've picked 4, then 9, then 8 for fourth number, after I use MY strategy of picking wrong on the SECOND number, NOT the first. (Maybe because I know car prices better then others.)
SW? - Simple also.

SC - Would've said $34K and $20K respectively.

GAME LINEUP - horrible!!!  Didn't we see this show already on Friday?  Oh wait, different contestants today...

Giovanna was a TOTAL HOTTIE!!!  By my reckoning, the second fireball hottie of the season after the lovely and very buff Candace from November 20th.  I just wish she'd been able to get out of Bid Row cuz she would've made a wonderful contestant.

In the vein of wonderful contestants, how about Mark and the ceaseless Bob references?  Don't quite know what to make of that...but he was a LOT of fun.  Likewise for Nicholas...that nametag thing:  BEE-YOU-TEE-FUL.

That bit with the Big Wheel during today's first Showcase was just awesome...it's always nice to see other props appear there (anyone remember a few years back when we saw Clock Game and Hole in One during a Showcase?).

I can finally talk about the episode! I didn't want to say anything that might spoil the outcome.  My wife Erin was on stage...it was awesome.  :-D  I actually just wanted to see a taping of The Price is Right while we were on vacation...I guess it really is true that everyone has a chance.

I know a lot of you have already been, but if any of you haven't gone - it's totally worth it.  Everyone is so much fun and Drew Carey is really, really funny during commercial breaks.

If anyone from the show reads these posts, thanks - we had a really great time (and you made her day for sure!)  ;)

P.S: this show was initially supposed to air on November 6th, but they sent us a letter in the mail saying it was showing today.  That was nice of CBS to do.

Shopping Spree was pretty tough today, in my opinon.  I thought the luggage would be much cheaper than the guitars, and I was surprised that the price of the instruments was only little over $600.  Kudos to Stan for using the "regular" version of the Fortune Hunter cue instead of the variations we've been getting for the last few (aired) shows.

I guess Mark has been living under a rock for some time now and called Drew "Bob." :-)

I felt that 5 Price Tags should have been won today.  A Chrysler 300 is a pretty nice car and the only logical price that suited it the best was $25,495.

Is it me or did Drew reference the infamous "$420, Bob" moment during IUFB #3?

It's a shame that Erin lost Grand Game so early, well winning only $100 is better than losing $1,000 in the final choice.

Wow I actually found a cue from the 2007 music package I actually like, it was played during the car's description in Cover Up.

I found it was hilarious that Nicholas took off his nametag and placed it over Lauren.

Wow, when was the last time the Around the World showcase appeared?  It feels like it's been a while.  Also, I enjoyed the first showcase, and that truck must be loaded for the showcase to come close to $40,000.

Saw a couple of people comment on this. It's actually been happening since Drew took over the show. It's my understanding that the taping sessions consists of essentially the same 6 games (with less played games like Triple Play inserted occasionally). IIRC this is the 2nd or 3rd time that they've had a same lineup on a Monday that they had the previous Thursday or Friday. Not a biggie

One-Bid #1:  Fireball Hottie #10--Halick! :P

Giovanna was a TOTAL HOTTIE!!!  By my reckoning, the second fireball hottie of the season after the lovely and very buff Candace from November 20th.

No, tnpir4000.  A "Fireball Hottie" is a hot young female of the African-American persuasion.  A hot young female of the Caucasian persuasion is a "Heels Hottie".

Spree:  Dang, those were two cheap-ass guitars.  Roger did not want this game won today.

One-Bid #2:  "$799, Bob!"  Mark, you haven't read the news in the past year, have you?

One-Bid #3:  "$420, Bob!"  Yeah, exactly what I was thinking, Drew.  Mark must've been high on something...

I can finally talk about the episode! I didn't want to say anything that might spoil the outcome.  My wife Erin was on stage...it was awesome.  :-D

Congratulations to Erin on winning! :-)

One-Bid #6:  Nice move by Nicholas with the nametag!

?Switch?:  Easy switch.  I noticed that the "Head Clown" cue got its update.

Showcases:  Sorry, Joe, but we did not have a Rob Mackey showcase today.  Halick is of the female persuasion.

SC #1:  The Big Wheel in the showcase!  Nice!

SC #2:  Ugh... the evil friggin' random around the world showcase.  And I smell a double overbid.

My showcase bids:
Truck--$25,855
FRATWS--$19,599

Result:  $39,500?!  WTF?!  But another Fireball Hottie wins it all!  (And with a surprisingly close bid, no less.)
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Just a little note and a request here...since this is actually Thursday's show, I'm probably not going to watch it until I've seen Wednesday's.  As such, there won't be any FAQ or calendar updates about this episode until Wednesday night, and I ask that anyone who IMs me before then not spoil any details of it for me (although I wouldn't expect that from the people I usually talk to, anyway).

(And what will I watch for my Price fix tonight?  Why, today's real show with the 3 Strikes win, of course! :))

BRB's right, "The Head Clown" did sound touched-up today.  I wonder if that means we're soon to see Switcheroo?

Shopping: I had a feeling the Guitars would be the "land mine". Too bad.

5PT: Too bad about the outcome. It's amazing that a luxury car that has the looks for a $30,000-$40,000 car could be less than I thought.

Grand: Well, another killer setup and I would've quit at a Thousand, too.

Squeeze: Good win. Where was Mark six months ago?  :-D

Cover: I had a funny feeling that the three would not be picked. Too bad.

Switch?: Good win.

Showcases: WHOA!!! The big wheel in Showcase #1!!! Excellent. Brandi and Gaby were very HOT cowgirls.  :-D Halick almost gave us another DSW. Impressive win for a Fireball hottie.  :-D

A 3.25-star show.

The Price is Right Game #6,771

Showcase #1: Dodge City
Bulova Accutron Ladies Diamond Watch - $995
Golden West Billiard Table - $2,800
2008 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT - $35,795

Oh, by the way, the latter two trips also appeared in the first showcase on January 30, 2007, but of course they're not the same price because the price is based on exchange rate on the day of taping.
