I wonder if Rich still likes his job after what happened in that second showcase? Still not as bad as the pie fight one, though.

Y'know seeing two boring quickies to end the show is always a recipe for disaster(i.e One Wrong Price and Double Prices lumped together several times during season 35) Ending the show with 1 Right Price and Squeeze Play (though Squeeze is a gazillion times better than OWP and DP) is a horrible way to end the show.

Well we've seen Grand Game first for the first time in years, seeing it first was neat, but let's not see it first again for several more years.

If they really wanna do something neat they'd play Grocery Game/Bullseye or Now or Then first.

Pathfinder was just pathetic. That had to have been the worst playing i've seen in a looooonnnnnggggg time.

Poor Alfred. I feel bad for him losing One Right Price despite his goof in changing his mind. I really couldn't blame him for doing such because who would have thought a washer and dryer would be $3300+ and an ATV only $2500+.

That 2nd showcase today was just absolutely p-i-t-i-f-u-l. It might have been ok if they hadn't made it painfully obvious what was gonna happen. Can they actually get any worse than they are now? I sure hope not.

The last time Grand Game was played first was February 8, 1993.

The last three shows this week have been very disappointing, because the contestants are making a lot of mistakes on pricing games, and not focusing on trying to win the big prizes. We've had only five wins the last three days. The execution has been quite atrocious and that has got to chance Thursday and Friday, or we are looking at possibly the worst week so far of the 37th season. I don't know if the pricing games are getting more difficult to win, or the contestants aren't paying enough attention on how to win a pricing game, but they really need to come well-prepared to win a big prize on a pricing game.

I guess there's relatively nothing wrong with Grand Game showing up in the first slot, apart from the whole edit job to make such happen.  The end of the show, though... ick, that was bad, ending with One Right Price and Squeeze Play.  So many better ways the lineup could've been arranged, most easily by simply playing One Away fifth or sixth, instead of fourth.

Speaking of One Away, I guess Drew's ruined the fun in that game, now that we've seen it played the "wrong" way again.  Why, why, why?

Make Your Move would've been tough to lose today.  Still sure someone would have ;).

Shame Ruth never made it up on stage.  She seemed like she'd have been fairly good :).

I'm still willing to bet that it has something to do with his foot. In the other episode where it was revealed like this, Drew was still wearing the "boot" (though, he no longer had the cane).

If the setup with the model and the reveal is still done the same in a month, then I'll be upset. "All mighty sound effects lady..." was one of the best things he brought to and did on the show.

I am praying that it was the long SD1 that caused OA to be screwed up again, because we did end up pretty far behind. I mean, Drew created the "almighty sound effects -", so he wouldn't just dump it...right?

I'm not sure what to say about the showcases today. From Drew not asking Loriann anything, to Alfred suddenly winning his showcase (I thought he was way over), to cars being more than I expected...very overwhelmed. Maybe I'll come back later, but definitely the highest grade this show could get is a

C+.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

I thought Frank15 was referring to not saying "Oh mighty sound effects lady" rather than having a model move the numbers.  After all, saying the phrase doesn't require any movement.

One note from someone in chat who was at the taping (Levius): From what we were told from him, Britannia had apparently stepped on Drew's foot during Make Your Move, and took about 5 minutes to do her game, so it ended up being majorly edited.
Yeah...let's make this current shall we?

As far as I'm concerned, Rich has now finally answered my question to him as to whether or not he minded taking a pie to the face in the name of ratings.

And we get to keep "Alakazaam" but we lose his best creative contribution to the show (IMO) with the change to O.A.?

I QUIT.

And that is exactly what I was referring to, and said so in the next paragraph; for all intents and purposes, "All mighty sound effects lady" is part of the reveal.

I agree Willy, Drew pretty much ruined his best contribution to the show with the changes in One Away. One Away doesn't need the model, but it does need the contestant participation rather than Drew's asking how many #'s are correct. Sad, sad, sad.

If you wish, I could find out.  But don't condemn the guy or the rest of the staff, the show is still in a transition period.  I'm a fan like everyone else, but I don't take things so seriously or nitpick every little detail
