One can't help but wonder if Bob would have given Jennifer the win on Cliffhangers. Yodely Guy clearly stopped for a few seconds on the last step and everyone had thought she won. Not saying it warranted a win, but I felt like it was one of those cases where Bob would've given one anyway.

I don't think so. When I saw something like that happen in an episode from 1986-87 (where a contestant lost on the first prize), Bob didn't give the contestant the win.

Plus, in the season 11 finale, on the last SP, the Yodely Guy went up his last 10 steps and stopped on 25. The contestant guessed $22. The ARP was $37. She missed it by $15, but the Yodely Guy did not go over at all (unlike in this episode, when he only stopped for about half a second before he fell over), and it was too exciting, they gave her the win, anyway.

What are you talking about? The stagehand made a mistake, and the playing was 4 10 12 - 26. You can't possibly give a tech on that (and I hope Bob never did either).

Anyways... god dammit Gas, I got excited for a moment there. Why did she have to lose on what is a cheap looking car...
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

This special was quite fun than the previous one last season!

THE BAD NEWS:

Cliffhangers: Can't believe we had a fake-out when Hans looked like he was about to tip over. Nevertheless, that really sucked for Jennifer and I really doubt a tech win should be awarded to her because of that, unfortunately, seeing that it might have been a mechanical problem............But dressing Hans in a firefighters uniform and giving him a pick-axe, that was cool. A little gimmicky, but cool.

Gas Money: At first I thought that Katherine was gonna pick that $14K+ price since I thought that might have been the car price. Too bad she picked the $15,595 one. On the bright side, at least today's playing last a lot longer than the previous ones. While no wipeout, it was quite a nail-biter hoping it would have its first win this season, but to no avail.

Danger Price: Had a feeling the bags would do Brandon in.

THE NOT-SO-BAD NEWS:

Clock Game: Emmanuel came so close on the camping gear, but a grand on the wheel and F-150 really did make it up. Sure was a good SC bid!

THE GOOD NEWS:

Switch?: Easy win for Brian!

Line 'Em Up: Thanks to Joseph, a car game washout was averted! I was totally off on that when I thought that $18,750 was the right price, which was Joseph's 1st guess. Good thing he changed the 8 and the 5, for the win..............A ode to joy for him!

While it was only two wins, I really did enjoy it and it wasn't that bad, and the firefighters really had a good time.

Super weird lineup today, I like it :)

Overall a pretty mediocre episode, good contestants and a great win in Line!

One can't help but wonder if Bob would have given Jennifer the win on Cliffhangers. Yodely Guy clearly stopped for a few seconds on the last step and everyone had thought she won. Not saying it warranted a win, but I felt like it was one of those cases where Bob would've given one anyway.

Honestly, I think that would get Bob into a heap of trouble. This was fair & square, and S&P would have had something to say if Bob just gave her the win for a 1 second stop on 25 before falling over.

Anyways... god dammit Gas, I got excited for a moment there. Why did she have to lose on what is a cheap looking car...

People tend to overprice cars on a regular basis in games like this, it seems. Especially when its the 1st or 2nd cheapest price out of all 5.

C-H: I knew this was going to be lost, but I didn't expect it to be by a buck. At least it wasn't played for a car.

S?: As easy as it will get.

GM: Another heartbreaker- Katharine played that so well.

Clock: Yet another close loss.

LeU: NO Car Game Shutout this week- WTG, Joseph!

Danger: Not as close as the other losses today.

Showcases: I wasn't surprised the boat Showcase was worth more than the truck one- those Glastrons are pretty expensive. Emmanuel would've been a DSW if he had added another $1K to his bid.

Not a bad way to go into the break.

Cliff Hangers: So close! Only $1 shy of victory!
Switch: Piece of cake!
Gas Money: Cheapest multiple of 5 strikes again. At least it was down to the wire.
Clock Game: Again, so close! But thankfully, Emmanuel made up for all that and won $1,000 in the Showcase Showdown, and a Ford F-150 in the Showcase!
Line 'em Up: Way to avert a car-game-shutout!
Danger Price: I was hoping for the TV to be the Danger Price, but boy, was I wrong.

I knew this week would end with a bang.

Honestly, I think that would get Bob into a heap of trouble. This was fair & square, and S&P would have had something to say if Bob just gave her the win for a 1 second stop on 25 before falling over.

The person on stage clearly screwed up, leading to the contestant and the audience thinking she won. I'll have to go back and watch it again later, but I believe Drew initially thought she won, too (please correct me on that if I'm wrong).

All I'm saying is, Bob gave away a prize to a contestant that blatantly cheated and didn't even play the game, yet S&P didn't have an issue with that...This was someone on the show making a mistake.

I really haven't commented on Drew much lately because he's been mostly at least competent and as a result I've had bigger fish to fry, but the past week and a half or so has really been a step up from even that. Today in particular he was great - making appropriate, not forced jokes; actually transitioning between the segments well regardless of whether the game was won or lost, etc., etc. I really wish he was like this all the time - it makes the shows that would otherwise be a drag to watch (like yesterday) more tolerable.

This was actually a decent special. Pretty creative lineup, fairly open setups and some good contestants. Gas was still hard but it was hard in a different, fairer way than usual (by not being an extreme) and we actually got to see it PLAYED today, which was nice. Although I'm not sure how she lost once she eliminated 16 - that was really the trap price there. Other than that, it was actually refreshing in a way to see Cliff Hangers and Clock Game get LOST, just for a change of pace (and Pick A Pair all in the same week - what gives?). The dramatic Line win was nice too. Just one of those days that everything came together well on a special instead of being a mess, which was good to see.

Timings:
Cliff Hangers (4.5) - 4:37
Switch? (3.5) - 3:41
Gas Money (5.5) - 4:38
Clock Game (4.5) - 5:37
Line 'em Up (5.5) - 4:44
Danger Price (4.5) - 3:31
Total (28): 25:50

There's no need to be an arrogant ass about it. That's completely not what I said and you damn well know it.

There's a difference between everything going smoothly and everything not going smoothly and confusing the hell out of everyone.

A tech win should not be awarded to the Cliff hangers player since there was no way that gameplay was altered that could have changed what happened. The yodeler could have stopped completely at 25 and I still would have taken the prize away from the contestant as soon as the price of the small prize was revealed as they lost the game fair and square. Reactions should not have any effect on the outcome unless the game was a time based game i.e. Bonkers, Race Game, etc...

All I'm saying is, Bob gave away a prize to a contestant that blatantly cheated and didn't even play the game, yet S&P didn't have an issue with that...This was someone on the show making a mistake.

That was a different situation. That segment to be corrected would have to be redone completely, getting a new prize for the game, getting new cards to put into the prop, and re-shooting the IUFB reveal. Rather than go through all that mess, Bob pretty much had to just give it to him and move on. S&P Didn't have a problem because while all of us know he clearly cheated, there was room for him to play dumb and pretend he didn't know.

What happened today is slightly unusual but not to the point where it warranted giving her the prize. Something comparable would be a Plinko chip hanging on the edge of the $10,000 slot but falling into $0.

There was also a time when I recall this season (I believe) a Squeeze Play setup had a lot of repeating digits, and when Drew originally revealed the price he said "YOU GOT IT!" or something like that because he thought they won, but they had actually lost and Drew mis-read it. They lost the game and were not awarded the prize.

I get where you are coming from though, I just don't think it's something that warrants it.

Oh, I agree. My original point was just that I felt Bob may have given her the prize today. If Yodely Guy would've just stopped for a split second, it would be different. But he clearly stopped at 25 for a few seconds and it was just enough for everyone to think "oh, she won!"
