Seeing as how Whew! ran only 25 minutes per show (a CBS news capsule followed), Buzzr will have plenty of time to run those bloody four-minute Car Shield commercials.

Nice to see another first-to-air since its original run appear again, and I'm certainly going to watch this as the players take on the Gauntlet of Villains! I have 11 episodes in my collection, and its always exciting to watch given that its a race against a clock with every round, and there's an interesting strategy element regarding avoiding blocks and calling "Longshot!" when time is short.
Now open for tape trading! Please PM me for an offer with a list included.

My 10th Grade English teacher, Steven Glassman, was a contestant on this show. In fact, he even brought students from my high school, Buffalo Academy for Visual & Performing Arts, to the tapings to root him on! Looking for to seeing this!

They would have had time to run those Car Shield ads even if Whew ran for 30 minutes.

I'm a little surprised that this is the first time Whew! hasn't run anywhere in over 4 decades.  I'm not going to rank myself as (one of) the best GSN fanatic during their glory days (or USA for that matter), but I followed it enough to pay attention to what ran on the network.  I'll admit that if someone randomly asked me if Whew aired on GSN or USA, I might have said yes it did.  Though I would not have been able to tell them the years.  Because it never happened!

Totally underrated show.  Great news to see its return (on Buzzr).  Unless I'm mistaken, Whew! was the first ever lead-in to TPIR following the latter's move to its now normal & traditional timeslot

Indeed it was in looking. Whew debuted 4/23, and Price went to it's since permanent 11am Eastern time slot same day.

I wonder how Buzzr will handle the commercials and such for Whew, sorta interested to see for my own curiosity. Very different deal from the 45 minute B&W slots course, but....still am curious.

Probably have one of their patented five-minute ads every single day. Lord knows they'd have the time for it :-P

I always loved the endgame, but moreso the reveal: the walls opening, the musical fanfare, the endgame play.  I can’t wait!

I just now noticed the “eyes” effect for the endgame.  Very cool 😉

Wouldn't have truly earned its stripes in a celebrity format without Betty making at least one appearance, after all

Betty was a longtime friend of the Narz family (Both Tom and Jack Narz were announcers on Betty's sitcoms during the 1950s), so it's not surprising she showed up. I believe she's appeared as a celebrity on every single celebrity-based game show Tom hosted, and I wouldn't be surprised if she showed up on To Say the Least at one point. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if she recommended Tom to replace Allen on Password Plus. Before that Tom was on Mark Goodson's bad side for hosting You Don't Say!, which Goodson thought was a ripoff of Password. Sure, Tom appeared as a guest on a few G-T shows previously, but never a host until Password Plus.

Could've sworn I'd seen in one of Adam Nedeff's books, that it was Allen himself who told NBC/GT to call Tom.
