The TALK Is Right / Pricing Game Tier List Video
« Last post by OneBidTris on Today at 12:39:58 PM »
Hello there. Some people on the site came together to make a tier list of every pricing game the show's ever created. There are opinions you may agree with, some that will be divisive (I know there were some even we were divided on as the list goes on), and others that may surprise you.

It's a long video, but there are chapters if there's a particular game you're looking for. Enjoy:

(Wasn't sure if here or OILF was the better place to put this, though it is a bunch of Price fans nerding out about Price games)

« Last post by mechamind on Today at 12:32:59 PM »
Episode Number: 3754D (08/28/1980)
Airdate: August 28, 1980
Barker's Beauties: Janice, Holly, Lisa

Here it comes! Television’s most exciting hour of fantastic prizes! The fabulous, 60-minute Price Is Right!

HOUR POWER!

First Four: Right-to-left
Microphone Handoff: Janice

Bob thinks he looke like George Raft with his bright suit on.

1st IUFB - A trip to Las Vegas: Fly with a guest round-trip holiday air coach from L.A. to Vegas via Western Airlines, for a stay at the Sahara Hotel enjoying swimming, golf, fine dining, and a caravan room, with superstar entertainment in the Congo Showroom and Casbah Theatre (Holly on the Train, Janice with the prize)

|SAM|LYRA|MARY|TAMARA|
|$700|$350|$450|$500|

Bob asks if everyone knows who George Raft is, and Tamara is the only one who doesn't, so Bob jokingly tells her to sit down. :P

Actual Retail Price: $581!

Tamara is playing Clock Game for a waterbed and a bar set (Lisa):
1: Chromcraft Furniture refreshment center, a charming console table when not serving refreshments, and converts into a 3-stool bar with a place for your mixes and condiments
2: America the Elegant, Inc. Le Bed waterbed lavishly upholstered in brown and beige trim with pedestal and headboard to give it a European flavour

Tamara has 30 seconds to give the correct price for both prizes.

The price of the bar set is $552. The clock will start with the first bid:

$500▲, $600▼, $550▲, $575▼, $561▼, "62"▼, $551▲, "52"

*DING DING DING DING DING DING* Tamara wins the bar set with 21 seconds left!

*DING DING DING DING DING DING* Tamara wins both prizes with 12 seconds left!

The next calldown is named Ginger Bobo. Bob finds that name interesting, and Ginger says it was a little hard to get used to. Ginger is her real first name, and her boss once said her full name sounded like a clown cookie. At least she laughed about the George Raft reference. :oldlol:

2nd IUFB - A handy dishwasher: Gibson portable dishwasher featuring 3 levels of washing action, hygiene cycle, forced air drying, and energy saver switch (Lisa on the Turntable)

Also going to the winner is a supply of Electrasol dishwashing detergent (Lisa)

Unquestionably in budget saving mode right now, big time!

I have a gripe with Bargain Game.

The colors they use when showing the actual retail price is yellow, with the white numerals, makes it hard for my 57 year old eyeballs to see.

I wish they would use black numerals instead and bolder, like they used to with Barker's Bargain Bar.

I know with B.B.B. the price difference shown was red background with white numerals which is fine.

I wish the current set up with Bargain Game would do the same again.

Very tough games today.  Double Cross the only winner.

I would have flopped in Flip Flop (both literally and figuratively).

I figured a trip to Mexico from California would only have been $6,900 and change as it's so close...

I tell my family that many losses seem to happen more the longer the season goes, due to budget mode being in place.

Indeed those Drone numbers were really a crapshoot.

I shared with my son about the "zero" rule and when the player began to put the zero in the 2nd or 3rd spot I got so irked, my son was amused, but a nice come back to win the car in Ten Chances.

I love that game but I still miss the original game board so much.

It's weird with Spelling Bee, because I too would have taken the $4,000 guarantee.  While that was a painful bailout, I don't know that I'd risk the money without having all 5 cards.

I was floored seeing those chicken nuggets being almost $14!  That's why I thought the It's In The Bag player was right on the other ep putting them in the 2nd bag only to lose!

That's Too Much has grown on me quite a bit, grown (not GROAN)...

I like how they show the price range before the reveal.

I enjoy Punch A Bunch, felt disappointed that only 2 punches were won though.

I lamented to my wife and son who were watching about how that guy with only 2 punches won $2,500 while the last Plinko game with 3 chips only netted $1,500.  I'd far prefer Punch A Bunch to Stinko...

I "won" Bullseye doing the very same thing taking 2 of the same item.

Now that I tape the show and can watch, I can write more on here about the shows too.  The recaps are genuinely appreciated!  Outstanding work as always.

Was good seeing Any Number.  I was telling my son how that's the oldest game and then Drew mentioned about it being one of the very first games too.  I like how Drew shares the history of the show at times.

After the difficult Five Price Tags game, I was so pleased to see Carrie Anne win a car in the showcase!

That Dice Game win was incredible!  Really well played and a well deserved win!

Was glad to see Pick A Number won too.

This makes me wonder what restrictions there might have been in place that are, unfortunately, no longer in place on episodes and content.

I am assuming you mean episodes featuring fur coats, now that Bob has passed away?

For the most part yes, the most expensive item is usually a medical product or some other non-food item.
Based on that, I knew Daniel lost when he put the chicken tenders in that bag. Even though plant based can run up the price (I was surprised it was only $6), the second bag had to be the sunscreen.
